Fabric A 1-1/2 yd teapots 2667-21 2667-68 (4) 5-1/2” x 50-1/2” strips cut on length of fabric

Fabric B 1/4 yd rose bouquet 2131-21 2131-68 (4) fussy cut 6-1/2” squares for border corners (2) appliqué teapots

Fabric C 5/8 yd stripe 2132-21 2132-51 (6) 2-1/2” x width of fabric (wof) strips, sew together end to end and recut into (2) 56-1/4” borders and (2) 57-1/4” borders (5) appliqué teacup rims & saucers, (1) teapot lid

Fabric D 5/8 yd tossed rose 2133-12 2133-30 (3) 5-7/8” x wof strips, recut (20) 5-7/8” squares, then cut in half on diagonal once for (40) triangles

Fabric E 1/2 yd calico floral 2134-66 2134-81 (2) 4-1/2” x wof strips, recut (18) 4-1/2” squares, cut (2) additional 4-1/2” squares for a total of (20) then cut (2) appliqué teapots and (2) teapot ovals (5) appliqué pink 2134-55 teacups

Fabric F 1/2 yd floral vine 2135-12 2135-12 (2) 7-5/8” x wof strips, recut (10) 7-5/8” squares

Fabric G 1/4 yd floral vine 2135-21 2135-81 (2) appliqué teapots, (5) appliqué teacups, (24) appliqué rosebuds for borders

Fabric H 1-1/4 yd plaid 2136-12 2136-51 (6) 6-1/2” x wof strips, sew together end to end, recut into (2) 55-1/2” vertical borders and (2) 56-1/2” horizontal borders (1) pink and (2) yellow appliqué teapot ovals

Fabric I 1/8 yd rose vine 2137-51 (2) appliqué teapot ovals

Fabric I 1/4 yd rose vine 2137-21 (2) appliqué teapots

Fabric J 5/8 yd floral circles 2138-30 2138-30 (2) 8-1/2” x wof strips, recut (5) 8-1/2” x 10-1/2” rectangles

Fabric K 2/3 yd floral circles 2138-66 2138-66 (12) 1” wide bias strips from top to bottom of fabric on 45° angle for appliqué vines, fold in half lengthwise, then almost in half again so the folded edges hide the raw edges when sewn in place cut (128) appliqué leaves (5) appliqué teacups

Fabric L 2/3 floral circles 2138-66 2138-81 (14) 1” x wof strips, sew together end to end, recut into (8) 50-1/2” vertical sashings and (2) 52-1/2” horizontal sashings (1) appliqué floral teapots (5) appliqué lavender 2138-81 teacups

Backing: 4 yd fabric B, cut into (2) 72” lengths and sew together selvedge to selvedge. Cut to 72” square for quilt backing.

Binding: 1/2 yd fabric L, cut (7) 2-1/4” x wof strips and sew together end to end.

Fusible web for appliqué

Fabric Requirements Note: Cutting instructions are based on UNWASHED FABRIC. Please do NOT remove selvedge before cutting, as some of the seam allowances will go into the selvedge.

RoseGardenTea forTwoSewing* Follow the manufacturer’s directions for fusible web to appliqué the teapots and teacups in place.1. Appliqué the 10 teapots onto the 10 fabric F squares, tipping the squares on point. Five teapot blocks will have the spouts facing left and 5 will have the spouts facing right. Add lids and ovals as shown in the color image of the quilt. Make 10. Sew a fabric D triangle to each corner of the 10 appliqué squares. Make 10.

2. Appliqué the stacks of teacups in the center of the fabric J rectangles. Pin a 4-1/2” fabric E square in each corner of the fabric J rectangles. Sew across the fabric E squares in a diagonal line from corner to corner. Trim away excess fabric 1/4” from seam line, fold fabric E triangle out and press seam line. Make 5.

3. Sew the teapots blocks in 2 vertical rows with 5 blocks in each row. Arrange the teapots so the spouts in the left row face right and the spouts in the right row face left.

4. Sew the five teacup blocks in a vertical row.

5. Sew the (8) fabric L 50-1/2” vertical sashing strips to each side of the (4) fabric A strips. Make 4.

6. Alternate the strips sewn in step 5 with the rows of appliqué rows sewn in steps 3 and 4 to assemble the center of the quilt top. The teacups row is centered with the teapots rows on both sides, The teapot spouts are all pointing to the quilt center.

7. Sew the fabric L 52-1/2” horizontal sashings to the top and bottom of the center of the quilt.

8. Fold the 4 stripe border strips in half end to end and press center fold line. Pin the center of the (2) 56-1/4” border strips to the center of opposite sides of the quilt top and continue pinning each end to the corners of the quilt top with excess fabric flapping over at the ends. Repeat with the (2) 57-1/4” stripe border strips to the top and bottom of the quilt. Sew each border to 1/4” inside the edge of the quilt on each side, miter the corners and trim away excess fabrics.

9. Appliqué the vines, leaves and rosebuds to each of the 4 fabric H border strips. Sew an appliqué 55-1/2” long border strip to vertical sides of the quilt. Sew a fabric B square to each end of the remaining 56-1/2” long border strips. Sew borders to the top and bottom of the quilt top.

10. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt the layers together.

11. Sew the binding together end to end. Fold in half lengthwise and press the fold line. Pin raw edge of binding even with raw edge of quilt top and sew pin place. Turn folded edge to back and sew in place.

Fabric F 1/4 yd floral vine 2135-12 2135-12 (1) 6-1/4” x wof strip, recut (5) 6-1/4” squares then cut the squares in half on the diagonal twice for (20) triangles

Fabric G 1/8 yd floral vine 2135-21 2135-81 (18) appliqué rosebuds for borders

Fabric H 2/3 yd plaid 2136-12 2136-51 (4) 5-1/2” x wof strips, sew together end to end, recut into (2) 54-1/2” vertical borders and (2) 23-1/2” horizontal borders

Fabric K 1/2 yd floral circles 2138-66 2138-66 (10) 1” wide bias strips from top to bottom of fabric on 45° angle for appliqué vines, fold in half lengthwise, then almost in half again so the folded edges hide the raw edges when sewn in place. Cut (76) appliqué leaves and (18) bud base pieces

Fabric L 2/3 floral circles 2138-66 2138-81 (6) 1” x wof strips, sew together end to end, recut into (4) 50-1/2” vertical sashings and (2) 20-1/2” horizontal sashings

Backing: 2 yd fabric B, cut into 67” x 37” backing piece

Binding: 1/3 yd fabric L, cut (5) 2-1/4” x wof strips and sew together end to end

Sewing1. Sew a fabric F triangle to each side of fabric B square. Sew a fabric D triangle to each side of the fabric F triangles to complete the block. Make 5. Sew the five blocks into a vertical row.

2. Sew the (4) fabric L 50-1/2” vertical sashing strips to each side of the (2) fabric A strips. Make 2. Sew these strips to opposite sides of the vertical row of blocks sewn in Step 1. Sew the fabric L 20-1/2” horizontal sashings to the top and bottom.

3. Fold the fabric C border strips in half end to end and press center fold line. Pin the center of the (2) 56-1/4” border strips to the center of opposite sides of the quilt top and continue pinning each end to the corners of the quilt top with excess fabric flapping over at the ends. Repeat with the (2) 25-1/4” stripe border strips to the top and bottom of the quilt. Sew each border to 1/4” inside the edge of the quilt on each side, miter the corners and trim away excess fabrics.

4. Appliqué the vines, leaves and rosebuds to each of the (4) fabric H border strips. Sew the long appliqué border strips to vertical sides of the table runner. Sew a fabric B square to each end horizontal border strips, then sew to the top and bottom of the table runner.

5. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt the layers together.

6. Sew the binding together end to end. Fold in half lengthwise and press the fold line. Pin raw edge of binding even with raw edge of quilt top and sew pin place. Turn folded edge to back and sew in place.
