Mission StatementGirls; Live, Love, Laugh Inc. is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
focusing on 6‐17 year old girl’s living
with limited resources in the inner city
of Newark, New Jersey and
surrounding areas.
Our
vision
is
to
empower girls by building positive
self ‐esteem, proper etiquette, self ‐
respect, bullying awareness, and
health/fitness. We aim to make a
difference by removing obstacles that
stand in their way, so that they can
become respectable, successful, and
happy young ladies.
Vision StatementThe
vision
of
Girls;
Live,
Love,
Laugh,
Inc. is to make a difference in young
ladies lives within our community, by
providing a safe haven that allows the
young ladies to express themselves,
explore new opportunities, and
empower them to become
professional and productive leaders of
today’s society.
Princess “Within” Tea Party
A young lady can be smart, beautiful, and talented; however, she also needs to
know how to act like a lady at all times. What every young lady should know,
understand, and practice is good manners. Today’s youth, particularly girls, are
exposed to inappropriate behavior through many different venues, from the school
bus, to the classroom, to social media.
It would appear that rude behavior has become the norm across society; our
youth are exposed to negative behaviors on many platforms, from social media to
the classroom. However, good manners, common courtesy and proper etiquette
are behaviors
that
lead
to
success.
Our Princesses have gone through an eight week “Social Grace Etiquette”
workshop and recently participated in a formal tea party to showcase their skills to
their parents and supporters.

Youth Stellar Award Ceremony
On Saturday, June 20, 2013, Girls; Live, Love, Laugh, Inc. recognized our girls for
their academic and community accomplishments. This was a day filled with joy,
pride and excitement. We used this day to celebrate the achievement our girls
worked so
hard
to
accomplish
during
the
past
year.
Our
young
ladies
were
so
excited when they heard their names called; we cried and watched them glow as
they crossed the stage to receive their awards.
Certificates, pins and trophies were given to all our princesses, as they were
honored for: Etiquette, Self ‐Respect, Self ‐Esteem, Attendance, Dancing,
Cheerleader, Good Citizenship, Honor Roll, Leadership, Bullying, Step Up Program,
Participation, Most Improved, Spelling Bee, and Math. “If they believed it and achieved it, we acknowledged it .”

Fit Girls Rock Boot CampChildhood obesity has more tha
doubled in children and tripled in
adolescents over the past 30
years. The percentage of obese
children ages six to 11 years old, i
the United States, increased from
7% in 1980 to nearly 18% in 2010.
Similarly, the percentage of obese
adolescents, ages 12–19 years old
increased from 5% to 18% over th
same period.
Girls; Live, Love, Laugh, Inc. took
an oath in fighting childhood
obesity by promoting healthy
eating and ways to stay fit. With
this in mind, we launched, “Fit Gir
Rock Boot
Camp
‐The
Movement
in July 2013.
Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of th
month, members of Girls; LLL, Inc
met at Nat Turner Park in Newark
NJ and took part in speed walking
yoga, jump rope, hula hoop, potat
sack racing, and floor exercises.
Health & Wellness Outreach Day
On
August
10,
2013,
Girls;
Live,
Love,
Laugh,
Inc.
along
with
Mount
Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Newark Fire Department, University Hospital,
Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Book’em Newark, Central High School Alumni
Association, Yoga Lotus, and the New Jersey Blood Bank of NJ for a Health &
Wellness Community Outreach Fair.
We came together as a community to provide free health screenings, breast
cancer awareness, school supplies, backpacks, books, clothes and smoke detectors
to the community. We also had food, face painting, yoga session, and conducted a
blood drive. Because so many people are without health insurance, chronic
illnesses are left untreated and many people are unaware of their health status.
By giving back to our community, it not only shows that we care, it also brings
“HOPE” back
to
the
communities
in
which
we
live
and
serve.
