Craig McIntosh's latest series of work shows his love of material and continues a long existing carving tradition in

New Zealand. Using only pakohe (argillite) sourced from Oraka in Southland, a site John Edgar has researched in the

past; Craig explores ideas of topography and land identity; process and manufacture through the division and

repetition of his material. This series of exquisite brooches and pendants forms part of his current Masters Degree at

Otago Polytechnic and is his most comprehensive exhibition to date.

Craig has a Diploma in visual arts from Whitirea Polytechnic and has exhibited extensively throughout New Zealand,

as well as in Japan, The Czech Republic, Germany and London. Next year he will be exhibiting in San Francisco, USA.
