We Are Young, We Are Pupils

O  And our main occupation is studying… But the Educational System of Republic of Moldova is not effective. Studying every day we observed that our Educational System is not perfect and it has a lot of gaps. Just 4% from state budget is allocated to education, whereas 6% would be at least. Also we should mention that all reforms in Educational System are inadequate. So, in our project we want to propose some solutions for solving the existing problems in youth’s education.

Some Stats Following a questionnaire

designed at Varnita and Bender we determined some problems like:

incompetent teachers old teaching methods theory without practice curriculum is hard students learn not for

knowledge but for passing exams.

O Of course these problems bother us and we want to solve them. A great majority of students have taken the following solutions: to make science more attractive to all students, a possibility to chose your subject, a big variety of profiles, participating at extracurricular projects, free exchange experience, to improve teachers knowledge, avoid kinship relationships between students and teachers during classes.

Incompetent Teachers and Old Teaching

MethodsO  Nowadays incompetent teachers and old teaching methods is one of the biggest problems. One reason is that teachers don’t use new technologies in their work, they don’t try to make the lessons more interesting. They use methods that were in the past and don’t experience to be in the step with time.

O Maybe they could have some trainings in country or abroad to improve their skills to teach pupils. It might be a good idea for the teachers to be more creative to attract students to teaching. Our future depends on the experience of teachers that influence the education of children.

Theory +  Practice -O Another problem that we observed reffers to the

learning process, and namely to the fact that it is based just on theory, without any practice. This curriculum doesn’t teach us any useful things but just is giving us MUCH information about everything in very big quantity. We think that it might be a good idea to create the internship opportunities and insert subjects based on practice. Also it is a good idea to equip the laboratories necessary for practicing curricular items. We think that it can be great for the Humanistic Faculty to get help from a notary or reporter so that they may teach a student something about his or her future work. What about Real Profile?

Theory +  Practice – (2)O They can try themselves in medicine or they can watch how

an accountant works. In our opinion a month of such practice can change the state of teaching in our country without making any problems for others. Maybe our government must pay more attention to education system and change it so it will become more useful for life but not fill us with the theory that can be unnecessary for our life. We want an education system that would teach us to use our knowledge, to find practical application for everything that the teachers tell us.

Attention Everybody!

O Today the teachers are not able to attract students’ attention. Often they work with a certain group, they don’t pay attention to other pupils. All these moments I noticed at the lessons. I think that this is a global school problem when the teacher is selfish, when he is working just for his own interest. In my opinion, the teacher must work with all the pupils because all of them need his/her attention in the learning process. In case that there are pupils that are able to understand better, he must give  them more working. I think that this problem should be solved.

Youth’s Indifference     O Non-formal education is the newest approach to learning

through fun activities and motivating and it means any activities organized outside of the school system. It includes many advantages as: the creation of communicative and organizational skills, abilities of leadership, which then enables young people to be active and within school hours. The problem of non-formal education in the country is the same as in all Eastern Europe- the absence of habituation of society to participate in activities that are not compulsory. Besides indifference of youth, there are people who even don’t  know about their existence , so it means that insufficient information for youth also is a problem. One solution may be to inform youth about the benefits of non-formal education, by organizing various trainings, seminars or meetings in an attractive way.

In conclusion We can say that the problem of non-formal education,

incompetent teachers, old methods of teaching and lessons just with theory without practice represent the major problems in our

country, especially for the students. Unsettlement of these problems lead to degradation of our society, because students receive information surrendered with old methods and don’t make

practice during the lesson, therefore they don’t receive information that they really need. We are the generation who suffers the most

and we are those who must solve these problems !!!
