2. Corporate profile The Facelift brand building technologies GmbH was founded on 8th February 2011 by Benjamin Schroeter and Teja Töpfer in Hamburg. With the Facelift Cloud, the Hamburg based technology company quickly grew and is continuing to grow. As of today, Facelift employs a global team of more than 250 and supports over 2,000 renowned brands, companies, and agencies as clients. In February 2014, Facelift received the largest Series A financing in the industry of social media marketing technologies in Europe, worth 15 million USD. Both founders are still the main stakeholders and continue to manage Facelift operatively.

2.1 Founders and management board Benjamin Schroeter (born 1975) has a degree in Business Administration. After graduating, he spent a year in China as a young professional funded by the Heinz Nixdorf foundation. Previous to founding Facelift, he worked at the The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for five years. As strategy consultant, Schroeter especially supported Technology & Media companies to develop new business models. Since early 2011, he – as Chief Executive Officer – is responsible for the sustainable growth of Facelift. Furthermore, Schroeter is a highly sought speaker for the subject of “Social Business Strategies”. Teja Töpfer (born 1975) studied Business Administration in Germany and Italy. As a student he began working at renowned fashion brands and later as a product manager at the Bertelsmann Game Channel. After that, he became managing director at Ernst Komrowski & Co. and was responsible for a medium sized industry syndicate for five years. At Facelift, Töpfer is Chief Operations Officer and in charge for the strategic development of the Facelift Cloud as well as all operative fields of the company. Besides activating internal research projects, the former world champion in rowing represents Facelift as lecturer at the “School of Management and Innovation” at Berlin’s Steinbeis University. 2.2 Facelift corporate biography Today, more than 1.5 billion people worldwide use Facebook – the largest digital platform of all times. Even when Facelift was founded early in 2011, social networks were considered an international phenomenon. However, companies in Germany first hesitated to harness social media like Facebook as a marketing channel, or for their corporate communications. Facelift identified the potential in the advertising industry early enough and specialized on Facebook first, before expanding towards social media marketing in general. The decision paid off. Only a little later, Facebook Fan Pages as well as continual social media marketing were considered standard digital inventory of any company’s internal marketing strategy. By persevere efforts and explanatory work, Facelift won its first client the same month of its founding. Since then, about 2,000 companies have chosen solutions by Facelift. 3. Facelift Cloud The Facelift Cloud is a multi certified software solution with all components for professional social media marketing on enterprise level.
