DESCRIPTION
The Child Witness Court Preparation Facilitator Training Program prepares community professionals to appropriately prepare children to testify in court, without contaminating evidence or jeopardizing the court case. The program consists of four core modules that can be offered in either a face to face or online learning environment. The four modules include 1) Core concepts central to child witnesses and court preparation 2) Child development issues and family dynamics 3) court roles, rules and legislation 4) court preparation research and strategies. Each modules consists of six to eight hours of instructional time.TRANSCRIPT

LOG-ON AND LEARNEach module will consist of narrated Powerpoint presentations, Live online Elluminate discussions, readings, videoclips and Discussion Forum postings that can be completed at your own pace over the month. An electronic certificate will be provided for the completion of each module and a separate hardcopy certificate will be issued upon completion of the series.

There is no charge for the series as it has been funded by Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security, Victims Programs.
