towards bearing children naturally. This is equally common amongst men and women.

Infertility is further classified as primary and secondary. If the female below 35 years of age

has never conceived even after 5 years of contraceptive free intercourse, or has given birth

to a still baby, it is called primary infertility.

Secondary infertility is different in a way that the female has not conceived after 5 years of

her first pregnancy.

Some of the less known causes for infertility include DNA damage, STD, thyroid, diabetes,

hypopituitarism, adrenal disease etc.

Most common causes seen in women are over age, tuberculosis, endometriosis, uterine

problem, excessive smoking and drinking.

Most common cause in men is the insufficient sperm count, immotile sperm, and exposure

of harmful radiations.

In some case both the male and female partner are equally impotent of bearing a child due

to one of these inborn medical conditions or other factors that may have disturbed the

equilibrium.

Some of the effective ways to deal with this is to resort to diagnosis and treatments like the

IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), (ART) Assisted reproductive techniques, tuboplasty, embryo
