• During October, spiraling levels of military activities and instances of signicant military escalation were reported in many provinces including Idleb, Eastern Ghouta, Hama and Aleppo. Furthermore, increased airstrikes in Hama and Aleppo governorates from September 19 to 30 impeded access to people in need.
• In September, those who ed North into Ar-Raqqa and Hassakeh governorates are largely arriving at the Abu Khashab and Malha receiving points for security screening before moving to camps in Ain Issa or Areesha. Around 1,000 IDPs are entering the camps each day. While humanitarian partners are responding in these locations, additional support is needed particularly at the receiving points.
• UNICEF tested the job skills of 200 adolescents in Idleb and Aleppo in business management, accounting, computing and other professions. The testing will inform future adolescent programming.
• Five new blogs on themes such as girls’ rights and dreams, love and respect were uploaded by young people on the Voices of Youth (VOY) platform and two questionnaires on volunteerism were developed and posted on UNICEF Syria’s U-Report forum.
• During September, 610 youth completed the basic and advanced entrepreneurship training package.
