TAP (TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM)The first step in the TAP application process is the completion of the FAFSA. When you get to the FAFSA on the Web Confirmation Page, there will be a link for New York State residents to complete an application for TAP. If you are not using the Internet to apply for financial aid you will be mailed a TAP application several weeks after the FAFSA has been processed. You must submit a FAFSA and TAP application before May 1, 2011 for the 2010-2011 academic year. TAP awards range from $500 to $5000 a year, or full tuition whichever is less. You will receive an award certificate from New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) with your official award amount.
