Ah, FAFSA—the form that has caused more confusion than algebra class. But the FAFSA could be your key to getting money for college! Let’s break it down so you

(and your parents) can stop stressing and start cash-flowing that degree.

Social Security numbers for you and your parents

Records of your parents’ untaxed income

Your parents’ federal tax information or tax returns that include W-2 information

Your driver’slicense number

Info on your parents’ cash, bank accounts, real estate, investments, and any business assets

Make sure you have access to:

Create an FSA ID.

Sign and submit the form.

If you’re a dependent, you and your parents need to sign the FAFSA form online using your FSA IDs. Once it’s signed, hit that submit button

and you’re good to go. You did it!

Start filling out the form.

Go to this page of the FAFSA website and create a username and password to access, save, and sign your FAFSA documents. If you’re a dependent, your parent will need their own FSA ID to sign your form.

Head to the FAFSA.gov home page and follow the prompts to helpyou fill out the form. There will be separate sections for you and

your parents to fill out.

A lot of people think there’s no way they’ll get financial aid. But there’s no income cutoff to be eligible, and you never know how much you actually qualify for unless you try. It takes less than an hour to complete—so just go for it!
