Service Overview• Silver Line Metrorail now serves

Wiehle, Spring Hill, Greensboro, Tysons Corner, and McLean stations

• 40% of Fairfax Connector service changed Jul. 26, 2014 in response to Silver Line

• Most proposed service changes adjust bus travel times due to traffic conditions



Service Overview

• Silver Line Metrorail:– 30,000 weekday trips to or from the new stations

– Wiehle: the “commuting powerhouse;” 16,800 weekday entries and exits -- half the lines ridership

• Dulles Corridor bus ridership:− 2% weekday increase− 7% weekend increase



Service Overview• Dulles Corridor park and ride utilization:

– Herndon-Monroe: 74%– Reston North: 100%– Reston South: 35%– Wiehle: 79%



Route 401/402 – Backlick-Gallows

• A new schedule will reflect travel times adjusted for traffic conditions

• Additional adjustments needed to serve:– New Dunn Loring Metro station bus facility– Redeveloped Springfield Town Center– Tysons Westpark Transit Station via Greensboro

• Buses will serve the Tysons Corner Metro station bus lane along northbound Chain Bridge Road (Rte. 123)

Route 463 – Maple Ave-Vienna

• A new schedule will reflect travel times adjusted for current traffic conditions

– Too much time in the northbound schedule between Vienna Metro and the Horse Shoe Lane timepoint

• Buses will serve the Spring Hill Metro station bus lane along westbound Leesburg Pike (Rte. 7)

• Departures on routes 505, 981, and 983 will be timed to provide an even spacing of buses between Reston Town Center and the Wiehle Metro Station
