Over the years our club has featured the best in the basics of implant and restorative dentistry with the members enrollment increasing year over year. This year’s focus will be on esthetics and comprehensive care. We are fortunate to have some of the best presenters in the world come to our group. Included will be valuable hands-on practice, engaging discussion and team building. Starting off in October, Kirk Behrendt will be leading a team-building event at the Trumbull Marriott. We end the year with a focus on immediate implants as a team approach. “Global Diagnosis” – A New Vision of Dental Diagnosis and Treatment Planning

With the advent and common usage of new treatment modalities, the historical method of diagnosis and treatment planning is no longer adequately serving our profession.

It is the purpose of this course to provide a systematic approach to diagnosis and treatment planning the complex interdisciplinary dental patient with a common language that may be used by the orthodontist, periodontist, and oral and maxillofacial surgeon, as well as the restorative dentist. The four Global diagnoses which dictate all interdisciplinary treatment planning will be defined. A set of questions will then be presented which will aid the interdisciplinary team in the diagnosis and treatment planning of the complex dental patient.

This lecture presented by Kirk Behrendt will identifying the 12 Key Performance Indicators of every successful dental practice and how to improve each in addition to a review of the 5 pillars of diagnosis to increase treatment acceptance. Other points that will be presented and discussed include:

Today’s restorative dentist and IDT team members depend upon the periodontist to establish an accurate diagnosis and, especially, set short and long-term prognosis - a role that requires risk assessment exceeding conventional methods.

This presentation will discuss the critical role of the periodontist in IDT from a diagnosis and prognosis standpoint and how emerging imaging opportunities fit into this relationship. Treatment planning and execution of therapy will be demonstrated based on IDT analysis and 3D CBCT diagnostic inquiry. Computer guided implantology and surgically facilitated orthodontic therapy applications will be discussed.

Imaging from a Periodontist’s Perspective

This lecture is designed for today’s esthetically minded, real world dentist and staff. Dr. Margeas will review dozens of direct and indirect clinical cases, step-by-step that are done in real time on an everyday basis. These include: porcelain veneers from preparation, provisionalization, and cementation. Direct composite resin veneers, class IV restorations, diastema closure, peg laterals, and porcelain repair. Learn how to create perfect ovate pontic sites following extraction.

Simplified implant techniques with immediate extraction, placement, and provi-sionalization using the patient’s natural tooth. Treating the worn dentition will be explained with different treatment options. The techniques learned can be incorporated into your practice immediately for increased profitability.

Aesthetic Orthognathic Surgery This lecture presented by Dr. Steinbacher will focus on a review of aesthetic optimi-zation of orthognathic surgery. Frequent aesthetic adjuncts to achieve the best possible results will also be discussed.

Dr. Steinbacher is the Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery (Plastic),Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial Program and Chief of Dentistry for Yale University School of Medicine Yale-New Haven Hospital

Concept: Optimal Treatment Options for the Partially Edentulous, Soon to Be Edentulous and Edentulous

The treatment of complete, single and partial arch edentulism remains a significant priority for dental clinicians. Patients also have placed an emphasis on immediate load and often request complex full-arch treatments with shorter treatment times, less cost and fewer appointments. This team oriented program will focus on proper case selection, loading protocols, the team approach and how each team member plays a significant role in complex therapies.

In addition, clinical studies will be reviewed that allow the clinician to gain an understanding of recent advances in dental implant componentry. These advances allow moderate to severe angle correction, gingival height correction, and immediate temporization options that can open new opportunities for clinicians to help meet the clinical, functional and esthetic needs of their patients.All members of the dental team are encouraged to attend with each individual role being highlighted and extensively discussed.

Multiple Case Presentation

Multiple Case Presentation Dinner will be served followed by a lively two hour discussion of treatment planning. Five to ten participants will present cases to be treatment planned or show already completed cases. This will be followed by a spirited discussion of the therapeutic alternatives that exist – an excellent way to exchange ideas and to expand your knowledge base. This forum will also serve as a learning crucible for the difficult cases.

Please note that you do not have to present cases to participate.
