Associate Degree Program
• Traditional & Non-traditional Programs:
– Traditional – 2 year program
– Non-traditional – for students that have a
degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN);
only 3-4 semesters
• Started new curriculum for Class 2015
• New curriculum started in Fall 2015
(traditional ASN program)
– Rolling admissions (admit students fall &
spring semesters)
– Will have part time progression track (3 yrs)
Bachelor Degree Program
• Can complete program in 1 or 2 years (can
take up to 5 years to complete if you choose to attend part time)
• Part time or full time status
• Accelerated track option available (almost all of
your general studies credits required must be completed prior to
starting the BSN program)
• Provides career mobility for the ASN
graduate
• Program is completely online NOW. (Students
have the option to come to campus throughout the semester.)
Admission Requirements
• FSU general requirements:
– 2.0 GPA (if in high school GPA 2.0, you can
take at least 10 credits of college classes to
improve your GPA)
– Submit application to FSU
– Submit high school transcript or GED scores,
college transcripts to the Office of Admissions

• ASN Nursing program requirements:
– Fill out an application for the School of
Nursing
– Take & submit ACT, SAT, or COMPASS
scores (15 ACT Math and 17 ACT English or
350 SAT Math and 445 English)
– Attain score of 50 or above on the Math &
English components, 60 or above on Reading
& Science components on required nursing
entrance exam (TEAS test). The highest
scores are accepted from each test.
Admission Requirements
• ASN requirements (continued):
– Submit above information to Office of
Admissions (Applications accepted for the
following academic year beginning on the 4th
Monday in August)
– First-come, first-served basis once application
complete and space is available. Once
prerequisites met, apply to program.
Admissions will be done on a rolling basis.
You will be given the next available space in
the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
Admission Requirements
• ASN requirements (continued):
– 48 spaces will be filled in the fall class first
– Once fall class filled, 48 spaces will be filled in
the spring class
– 15 spaces will be available for students to be
placed on a “wait list.” Wait list not started
until both fall & spring classes full. When
space becomes available, students on the list
are moved into the first spot available
regardless of the original term indicated on
the application.

COMPASS Test
• assessment of your current skill level – it is
NOT a test you can pass or fail.
• Results indicate to us what level of Math
and/or English you’re prepared to register
for (without it being too difficult or easy for
you to complete successfully).

– Students who graduated high school or completed the GED
