Hoof and Hearts News Quarterly
Bonnie Rachael, CEO and certified PATH instructor,
attended a workshop sponsored by Strides to Suc-
cess in Plainfield, Indiana on January 28-29, 2015.
Strides to Success is a PATH Premiere Accredited
Facility that serves as a resource for individuals,
families, organizations, and schools that utilize au-
thentic learning experiences to foster positive char-
acter and leadership development.
Strides is well known as an innovative think tank
within the equine assisted industry and offers both
consulting services, as well as professional devel-
opment classes within the industry.
It consisted of two parts. The first focused on
“Ground Activities” and the other was “ABC’s of
School Programming.”
Our existing program with the Effingham County
Schools is going well and we want to continually
improve and meet the needs of the students that
participate in our program. We are extremely
happy to be utilized and look forward to a mutu-
ally rewarding collaboration.

Gulfstream—Our Faithful Friend and Supporter
You’ve read here before how Gulfstream has
helped us out. Well, they did it again!
Through the United Way’s “Hands On Savannah”
program, Gulfstream visited us on Saturday, Feb-
ruary 21st with approximately 50 volunteers.
They worked on numerous projects on the prop-
erty, including extending the split rail fence by the
Education Center, as well as some landscaping.
Thank you Gulfstream for all you do for FETC!

In February we received two United Kingdom Shetland ponies from Personal Ponies, LTD for use in our planned mobile
ministry. Jasmine (aka “Jazzy”) and Higbee are especially bred for animal therapy purposes. Higbee and Jazzy are super
sweet and great in halter.
Bonnie will be working towards their certification
for our “Personal Ponies Mobile Ministry”. This
ministry will visit those who can’t come to us, i.e.,
Hospice Centers, nursing homes, schools, and
hospitals.
Jazzy is pictured on the right. She is a 15 year old
palomino. She and Higbee were used in class for
the first time with the Effingham Middle School on
March 12th. They were comfortable with the
children, the wheelchair and the buzzing activity
that abounds when the school children are here!
Not to be forgotten or outdone, please meet Higbee. He is a year younger and also possesses a docile personality and we
are super excited about having these two beautiful animals to further our mission.
Thank you to those volunteers already
working with them and showing an
interest in becoming part of our Mobile
Ministry. If you think you might be
interested in learning more about what
this ministry entails, please let Bonnie
know.
With new Programs comes new ex-
penses and needs. A gas gift card for
travel/transportation expense would go
a long way in helping out!

Virginia Commonwealth University Students Visit
A group of 12 students fro the Virginia Commonwealth Uni-
versity in Richmond, Virginia came to Faith Equestrian Thera-
peutic Center on March 9th. They helped out with numer-
ous maintenance projects around the property, as well as the
school program on the 12th.
They were a pleasure to have here and we are so very ap-
preciative of all they did. Thank you - we hope you come
back!
This issue we would like to recognize and thank Mary Shook for all she does for Faith
Equestrian. We can thank Mary for preparing our lunch each week and for keeping the
Education Center in tip top shape. She’s a talented seamstress and has made costumes
for some of our students, as well as costumes for our horses!
She came to us from Florida and has been a true blessing. She’s always there to lend a
helping hand and offer a kind word of encouragement.
Please, next time you sit down to lunch on Saturday, take a moment to thank this won-
derful woman for all she does.
