Advent Worship Nov 29th
We are looking forward to worshipping together on
Nov 29th. We want you to see this just as church.
Come as you normally do, in a spirit of worship. The
only difference is that we will be using our hands and
feet. Maybe don’t come in your Sunday best, as this
worship might get you a little dirty.
After the service on Sunday or on Wednesday night
please sign up in the foyer. Sign up where you are
passionate to serve.
KIDS
For families, Infant Nursery, Toddler Nursery and
Preschool Worship Center will be available until 11am
so you might want to consider at-church service,
rather than an off-site.
We want you to serve with your children, so when you
sign up please indicate how many kids will be with you.
Some options that would be great for kids, would be
the neighborhood outreach or the Bethany stocking
stuffing! We would ask if you sign up for the hospital
that your children are older than 12.
COMMUNITY KITCHEN
Community Action House through Western seminary
runs a kitchen, which provides free meals for anyone
who needs it. A team from Faith will have the
opportunity to join whoever comes for breakfast and
then bless the kitchen by doing a detailed cleaning of the kitchen.
BETHANY CHRISTIAN SERVICES
As a church we are passionate about caring for
vulnerable children. We are partnering with Bethany
to provide stockings for children in foster care. We
will have the opportunity to write an encouraging card
and pack a stocking for children in foster care.
HOLLAND HOSPITAL
A team will have the opportunity to connect with our
geographical neighbors in a friendly and caring way,
through offering hospitality in the form of drinks and
snacks to workers, friends and family of people in the
ER.
OUR FAITH SHUT INS
Small teams will package up cookies, and take
poinsettias and cards and visit our shut ins. They will
take time to sit with them, talk and pray with them.
GOOD SAM TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
This team will shop for and purchase supplies for
homeless people entering transitional housing. These
people often enter transitional housing with nothing.
We will provide supplies and write notes of
encouragement.
OUR NEIGHBORS
The team will deliver a little treat to our neighbors that
live around church. As these teams knock on doors,
leave a treat on the doorstep and walks the streets, they
will pray for the people that live around us.
OUR FAITH FAMILY
We are going to send three teams out to homes of
people from Faith who would be blessed by some
physical help and have specific needs.
HOLLAND FREE HEALTH CLINIC
Assisting clients with home projects who need
assistance.
PRAY
This team will stay and pray. We want to pray during
this event for the people of Faith church… for our
hearts to be filled by this act of worship. We want to
pray for the people that we meet, that they meet Jesus.
We want to pray for Faith church to be a place where
people feel welcome. So please consider staying and
praying.
Sign-up sheets are in the foyer following the service.
Any questions, please ask Rachel Baggech.
Additional Announcements There will be no Catechism, Sunday School or Spanish Connect Sunday morning because of our special Advent Service. Next Sunday, December 6 we will have our congregational meeting following the morning service.

FAITH IN ACTION Today
MISSIONARY UPDATE Ed & Linda Speyers November 23 Update Dear Friends, The world has been focused on events unfolding in Europe during this last week, and for good reason. It's difficult to keep one's attention on daily tasks, especially as we are constantly being reminded by the media of these horrific happenings. Suffice it to say, though, there are other things going on that also warrant some of our time and attention. And that's where I am choosing to take you today. After traveling for about 10 weeks this fall to 4 different states, giving dozens of different presentations, one particular event stands out among the rest. Our story this month takes us to a Christian college in west Tennessee. After a presentation in an IT class that highlighted how Information Technology can be used in Bible translation, the professor came up after class and inquired how he could be involved. When he was given the normal expected answer he said, "No. I want to know how I can get personally involved with Wycliffe. I'm tired of living in west Tennessee and I want to do something different with the years I have left. What can I do now, or when the school year is over?" We were quite shocked because our presentations are typically geared towards college students. Our desire and prayer is that they will think about how they can use their lives for the sake of the Bible-less peoples of the world. But Jim informed us that he wanted to be part of the work. Jim is now moving towards the Wycliffe member application process. This gentle 57-year-old IT prof is a recent widower, has been teaching most of his life, and has no immediate family. With his talents and gifts, and previous overseas teaching experience, Jim will make a fabulous contribution to our technology department, probably in Asia somewhere.
Frequently we use a computer printout depicting the remaining languages that still need Bible translation, in this case, at Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky. Students are shocked to find out that so many languages still need God's Word translated for them. Do you know how many languages we're talking about and where those languages groups are located? Take a good look at the recently updated map and then pray that God will lead us to young people, middle-aged people, or even older people, who will commit themselves to be an integral part of this worldwide task. Pray as we follow up with Jim and the dozens of students we connected with this fall. And thank you being such a crucial part of our ministry. You are treasured.
