Song - “Sweet Hour Of Prayer”
*Invocation
We meet in the strong name of our God,

*Litany - 1 Chronicles 16:23-31
Sing to the LORD, all the earth;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
He also is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the LORD made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and joy are in His place.
Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him; Worship the LORD in holy array.
Tremble before Him, all the earth;
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
And let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns.”

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pastor’s Ponderings . . .
First Lesson - 2 Chronicles 7:12-16 12 Then the LORD appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your
prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13 If I shut up the
heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I
send pestilence among My people, 14 and My people who are called by My name
humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be
open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. 16 For now I have chosen
and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My
heart will be there perpetually.
Second Lesson - Philippians 4:6-9 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses
all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally,
brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything
worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and
heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Gospel - Luke 11:9-13 9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it
will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and
to him who knocks, it will be opened. 11 Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his
son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? 12 Or if he is asked for
an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to
give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy
Spirit to those who ask Him?”
