There used to be loads in Mongkok in HK but even there doesn't seem to have them this year. Have tried Zhong Shan 4 Lu where there are lots of down jackets but not really western style... anywhere else? I heard there's a fake clothing market with lots of Timberland, levi's etc too. I can't find it!! I want to be lazy and find it all under one roof kinda like the Lo Wu centre in Shenzhen - maybe that's not possible in GZ though... Any ideas welcomed!!! Thanks #1 POSTED BY RUTH AT CLIFFORD (2854 DAYS AGO) For clothes, behind the Garden Hotel is one good place as well as the 6th floor in the Garden Hotel office tower. Or you can go to the Guangzhou Train Station...not the EAST station...Guangzhou Zhan. Watch your bags here. I recommend a money belt inside your clothes. From the Metro station, go to the E exit and up the stairs. Go to the back of the stairs and turn right. You will see a bus station on your left and a post office on your right. Keep going to the end of the block. You will see the watch market on the left. Turn left. Here you will find a huge block full of clothes buildings, both sides. It's pretty overwhelming. Again, be careful here. Sneaky criminals. Lots of foreigners shopping here. Some shops prefer it if you buy 100 or 1000 of something. North Face and Columbia Jackets...second and third floor. At the end of the block at the T junction the shoe market is on the right. cheers from Ruth #2 POSTED BY NEW30580 (2854 DAYS AGO) You can also go to Shoe and leather market in Beijing Lu. This market is besides Furtune Duck showroom #3 POSTED BY TAPS (2852 DAYS AGO) Ruth's right, went to the watch market last Monday, unfortunately the police are doing round so everything is hush hush. Thre are three buildings next to it selling clothes. We found a better deal at the basement, mostly where the fake jackets are. In one of the building you can find Esprit, Miumiu, Furstenberg, etc. Be prepare to haggle, they will usually ask how many pieces you will buy but if they like your look they will entertain you so smile a lot. #4 POSTED BY SPICEGAL (2844 DAYS AGO) Ruth, found the market and there's lots of great jackets there - paid 200 for a north face - prob fake and prob paid too much but if it keeps me warm I'm happy - they weren't much up for bargaining - but others were really asking stupid prices (400+).

Could you please tell me where Zhanxi Road is ? and Zhiyuangang? I would love to check these places out.

Zhan means station and xi means west. It's the road west of the Guangzhou Zhan(train station)Go out the E exit, go around to the back of the stairwell and you'll be on a road up to the right. Walk along there, go past the bus station on the leftand the post office on the right. Go to the end of the street and the watch market is on the left corner. Turn left. You will find many large buildings allalong ZhanXi Road on both sides. The shoe market is at the end on the right.Be REALLY extra vigilant about your bags around this area. Lots of pickpockets here. Use a money belt inside your clothes if you can.
