Course Description: Computing topics of current interest in industrial practice. This section focuses specifically on Fundamentals of DB2 for z/OS. Topics includes:
- Overview of DB2 for z/OS - DB2 anatomy - Application development for DB2 - Performance issues in DB2 - System administration of DB2
Course Objectives: On successful completion of this course students should be able to: - Identify DB2 components, and understand the DB2 architecture - Describe the DB2 system environment - Develop DB2 applications - Understand DB2 performance - State basic DB2 Management issues - Know the DB2 future and trends
Grading: There will be two exams, a midterm and a final. There will be regular homework assignments. The grading weights are defined as follows:
