Our students, faculty and guest artists present more than 100 performances each year ranging from on-campus recitals to international music competitions. All performances are open to the public and many are free. For as little as $25, you can support our renowned programs and you and your guest(s) will receive free admission to all campus concerts for one year, as well as half price at Mondays at The Max with WSU! Fisher Music Center. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Box at the Max M. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Avenue, Detroit. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Friends of Music, DSO Civic Youth Ensemble families and WSU students (with OneCard) receive a 50% discount. With undergraduate degrees in Performance, Composition, Music Education, Music Business, Music Technology, Jazz Studies and the Bachelor of Arts in Music, as well as graduate degrees in Performance, Theory/Composition, Conducting, Jazz Performance, and the Master of Arts in Music, the Department of Music gives students a modern education within a world-class research university. Additionally, students with exceptional educational and artistic backgrounds are eligible for talent-based scholarships up to the full cost of tuition.
