Campbell County 4-H Camp was a 5-day overnight camp for youth Ages 9-13 held from July 30– August 3, 2018. Over 200 youth, teens and adults spent an

exciting week camping at the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center located in the beautiful Buckingham/Appomattox State Forest.

All though the week was rainy with a few alterations in the schedule, the camp was still a fun filled experience. This year’s camp theme was “Blast from the Past” based on the 70’s, 80’s 90’s decades. Throughout the year, teen and adult leaders created decorations and planned evening events based on the theme consisting of Campfire, dances, pool party, “Minute to Win It” game show, Scavenger Hunt and Variety Show, with a guest master of ceremonies from a previous decade, Elvis! Although changed from the previously scheduled Monday to Wednes-day, the yearly carnival was certainly a highlight. The carnival festivities included the always-popular inflatables and many carnival games that allowed campers to win tickets to purchase popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones and other carnival prizes. In addition, campers enjoyed their classes, which were made up of Scuba Diving, Rocketry, Cooking, Leather Crafts, Canoeing, Archery, riflery, Arts & Crafts, Sharpen Up and many more.

4-H makes learning fun! Camp allows young people the opportunity to develop independence and life skills in a cooperative group setting all the while creating memories that will last a lifetime. SAVE the Date for next summer’s camp- July 15-19, 2019. We

highly suggest that you send or bring in your

registration as soon as possible after opening day
