For more information about Cal State LA admissions, visit: calstatela.edu/admissions FRESHMAN ADMISSIONS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FALL 2022 ADMISSION The California State University (CSU) temporarily suspended the use of ACT/SAT for Fall 2022 admission consideration. The majority of applicants will be admitted based on overall “A-G” GPA, and select applicants may also be considered for admission based on a Multi-Factor Review Process (MFRP). Complete the “A-G” college preparatory courses with a grade of “C-” or better. Achieve a qualifying overall post-9th grade “A-G” GPA as follows: - California residents and graduates of CA high schools: 2.50 GPA - Non-California residents: 3.00 GPA Meet the Cal State LA ranking GPA cut-off; Graduate from high school, or earn a GED; and If needed, satisfy the English Language Proficiency requirements (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, and DuoLingo English). MINIMUM CAL STATE LA ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS LOCAL AREA ADMISSION GUARANTEE Except for pre-nursing majors, local applicants will be guaranteed admission if they meet the minimum CSU Freshman Admission require- ments and have an overall “A-G” GPA of 2.70. Local applicants below this GPA may still be considered for admission. Applicants are considered local based on their high school of graduation, or military status. FRESHMAN PRE-MAJORS Freshman admission to all majors will be to a “pre-major” status. MULTI-FACTOR REVIEW PROCESS (MFRP) Except for pre-nursing, applicants who are CA residents or gradu- ates of CA high schools that do not meet the ranking GPA (but have a 2.00+ GPA and meet all other admission requirements) may go through the Multi-Factor Review Process (MFRP). In addition to GPA, the MFRP also considers the number of “A-G” courses beyond the minimum 30 semesters, local admission area status, household income, work experience, extracurricular activities, and other available applicant information.
