Familiarisation and Build Training
Background
At present a range of standard public courses are available, generally delivered
towards the end of the discovery phase of a project, as the build phase begins.
Delivery of the courses at the start of the implementation process and prior to
build is due to material, which comprises “how to use it” and “how to build it”
content, being pertinent at either stage of the project.
The training courses last between one and three days. This means that a project could require in
excess of 20 delivery days and can present resourcing issues when a number of projects start at the
same time.
The courses are delivered to up to six delegates at a time. Often the audience consists of a mixture
of individuals, including those who will build the solution and those who wish to understand how it
works in order to participate in the solution design.
At Highpoint we have split courses into two components: “how to use it” and “how to build it”. This
enables training to be delivered as two smaller interventions, which we have named familiarisation
and build training, as opposed to one large training session.
Project Team Training
Our Project Team Training has two components: “how to use it” and “how to build it”. We call these
two interventions Familiarisation and Build training.
Familiarisation training will be delivered at the start of the project, prior to workshops. Its purpose is
to equip delegates with sufficient information about how Agresso Business World (ABW) works so
that they can contribute to the solution design process. The audience for these courses will be
system builders and users or managers who are just contributing to the solution design.
Build training will be delivered as the Solution Design Documents (SDDs) are completed and the
team start to prepare to build the prototype solution. This training would be delivered to members
of the build team only.
Familiarisation training is delivered prior to workshops to
enable delegates to fully participate in the creation of the
Solution Design Document (SDD). Once the SDD is complete
and the project moves into the Build phase, Build Training will
commence. A modular approach will be used here; the team
selects only those modules needed to complete their build.
We can also provide training to
support User Acceptance Testing
(UAT) and End User Training (EUT),
when that stage of your project is
reached. We would be delighted to
provide details of these additional
services if required.

The training programme meets the requirements of the various audiences
The programme is integrated through Familiarisation, Build, UAT to End-user training
The training programme provides high-quality, re-usable materials
Training is delivered as required
Training interventions are more focused and less repetitive
