Please ensure that all sites read and adhere to the UWSOM policy, linked here: www.depts.washington.edu/fammed/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/EHR-Policy-Final-2015-041715.pdf 2) Teaching about suffering is important. A curriculum module for students is in process, as is faculty development for teachers. If you are interested in helping with this curriculum, please contact Tom Egnew. 3) “Look beneath the surface:” consider human trafficking (sexual or labor exploitation) when seeing patients in any setting. The National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline is: 1.888.373.7888 and the website is www.traffickingresourcecenter.org/ 4) For patients over 50, “shrug test” can rule out frozen shoulder, complete rotator cuff tear, or osteoarthritis. 5) The student panelists highlighted the value of autonomy and appreciated the quality of feedback in the FM clerkship.
