Miscela (Mish-Shell-A) pays tribute to the art of blending
and of going ‘above and beyond’. Grown in our Clare Valley
estate, where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives. The above and
beyond is Sangiovese, the Italian grape which we’ve coaxed
to trophy-winning levels in this vineyard. The mature vines
coupled with innovative thinking offers a rich intensity that
is delightfully different to the Clare’s classic varietal styles.
This pushing of boundaries we’ve christened our
‘Super Clare’ and we adore the result in its defiance.

FLAVABOM VINE DRIED SHIRAZ A minx of a wine that delivers flavor, depth and concentration with immediate impact. Single vineyard, vine-dried Shiraz grapes grown in our estate dirt are the backbone to this intense style. The integration of flavors, tannins and acids are hit with a judicious lashing of oak for a real flavour kick.
FLAVABOM FIELD WHITE A secret mix, in an ancient proactice, of blending in the field. Co-fermented with intuitively selected grapes, the effect of its layers is to create seamless complexity. Mature-vine, old-school varieties, with an influence of French oak, deliver an intimate combination unique from the standard every day varietals.

A CREATIVE APPROACH TO WINEMAKING & PACKAGING24
VINE DRIED SHIRAZSingle vineyard, vine-dried
Shiraz grapes grown in our estate are the backbone to this intense style. The integration of flavours, tannins and acids are hit with a
judicious lashing of oak for a real flavour kick. Higher in alcohol, the finish is long and persistent.
DOUBLE PASS SHIRAZWe take advantage of our
naturally rich fruit and create a statement in wine style and flavour. Vine dried grapes are
fermented into a concentration of flavour and richness. Regular
Shiraz is passed over the vine dried to create the DOUBLE PASS. Supple and smooth, finishing
with lingering flavours.
ASSEMBLAGEAssembled in the cellars from
four components harvested from our estate grown vines. The wine
is a juicy style with persistent flavours. Ripe red fruits are
complexed by exotic spice and finish with warm richness of
mouthfeel.
FIELD WHITEWine made by an ancient
practice of co-harvesting and blending grapes in the field, then
co-fermented from intuitively selected grapes grown in the estate on low yielding, older vines of old school varieties. Each vintage, the proportion
changes to optimise the characters to highlight one day in the vineyard. The contrast of co-fermenting, allows the fruit’s
flavours to develop in synergy for a naturally harmonious wine.

In the 1850s Paddy Devlin ran a wine shanty, peddling grog to weary cattlemen. The property now produces premium grapes from this section best known as Devlin’s Run. On a clear night when sitting back, enjoying a glass of wine on the River Murray, Devlin’s Mount can still be seen on the cliff top.

Our main focus is on high quality wine production without the use of animal based fining agents.
What are Vegan wines? No fish, milk, egg or animal-derived products are used in the making of the wine.
What do Byrne Vineyards do?Hyper oxidative handling of white grape pressings breaks down the phenolics chain, which is softer on the palate than animal based fining agents.
PVPP is used in free run juice which is a non-animal product for enhancing colour and avoids the need for animal based fining agents.
For red wines, a potato based fining agent is sometimes used for removing unwanted astringency.
How do I know which wines are Vegan friendly?
Vegan wine’s growing popularity raises questions about how wine is processed.
Many typical fining agents are from animal products. Fining agents are processing aids, which are mostly used to filter or ‘fine’ the wine. For example:
Gelatin from animal material
Albumin from egg whites
Caseinmilk protein
Isinglassfrom fish
This symbol appears on the back labels, indicating vegan and vegetarian friendly wines.
