hero from the second world
war. He agreed as a
volunteer to go to Auschwitz
Birkenau camp
( concentration camp made
by Nasists) to help the
prioners to survive and raise
their spirits. He was killed by
Polish authorities ( under
influence of Russian
government). Now he is
announced to be a national
hero.
Slovakia Juraj Jánošík was a
famous Slovak
highwayman. Jánošík has been the main character
of many Slovak and
Polish legends, novels,
poems and films.
According to the legend, he robbed nobles and
gave the loot to the
poor, a deed often
attributed to the famous
Robin Hood.

successful Slovak tennis player of
all time. Hantuchová reached her highest ranking, fifth, in January
2003, after reaching the

Vidigueira, (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈvaʃku ðɐ ˈɣɐmɐ]) (c. 1460s – 23
December 1524) was a Portuguese
explorer. He was the first European to
reach India by sea, linking Europe and
Asia for the first time by ocean route, as
well as the Atlantic and the Indian
oceans entirely and definitively, and in
this way, the West and the Orient.

Known as the Rainha do Fado("Queen of Fado"), Rodrigues helpedpopularize fado worldwide and traveledinternationally between the 1950s and 1970s. She also became one of the most importantfigures in the genre's development, becoming the pre-eminent female fadistaduring a 50-year recording and stagecareer. Amália was the main inspiration for other well-known international fado and popular music artists such as Madredeus, Dulce Pontes, and Mariza.

Roald Engelbregt Gravning Amundsen (Norwegian: [ˈɾuːɑl ˈɑmʉnsən]; 16 July 1872 –
c. 18 June 1928) was a Norwegian explorer of polar regions. He led the Antarctic expedition
(1910–12) to become the first men to reach
the South Pole in December 1911. In 1926, he
was the first expedition leader to be
recognized without dispute as having
reached the North Pole

DumDum Boys started up in the late 1970s as a punk band under the
name Wannskrækk and released a few singles under that name
before they reinvented themselves with a new name and a
somewhat new sound in 1985. Inspired by Lasse Myrvold and The
Aller Værste!, they produced their own music with Norvegian lyrics.
The new name, "DumDum Boys", was taken from a song on the
album The Idiot by Iggy Pop. Their debut album is called Blodig alvor
(na na na na na).
