Fapi Motors bring Husqvarna® Motorcycles to Malta
Fapi Motors attends Harley-Davidson® Training Course in Athens
The new year has brought with it even more exciting news from Fapi Motors, the company which has been the official distributor of the KTM® and Harley-Davidson® brands for the last few years.
On January 6th, a special launch at Fapi Motors showroom saw the dealership announcing the introduction of another renowned brand to its collection; Husqvarna® Motorcycles, also known as Huskies. With the 701 Supermoto and the TE 300 on display, Fapi Motors granted a unique experience to all motorcycle enthusiasts present, who could finally understand better how the Huskies manage to capture the thrill of the race track; tackle extraordinary challenges and strike a balance between power, weight, rider comfort and ease of use.
The Husqvarna® Motorcycles brand dates back to the end of the 19th century. In 1896, the company, which had already specialised in weaponry, sewing machines and kitchen accessories, introduced the first bicycles. By 1903, these bicycles were transformed into motorbikes. In 1955, the Silverpilen model introduced Husqvarna® motorcycles to the world of motocross with a lot of success. In fact, by 1960, Rolf Tibblin and Bill Nilsson had already won worldwide competitions thanks to Husqvarna® models.
This new undertaking is part of our intention to provide our clients with a wider choice of the most competitive brands.
Fapi Motors representatives Joanne Bartolo Chircop and Maryrose Baldacchino were at a Harley-Davidson® training course in Athens between the 10th and the 11th of January. The course, delivered by a professional, external training agency, focused on how to effectively purchase parts, accessories and merchandise. During the two-day course, the 7 participating European countries all delivered a presentation
which highlighted the stock they currently have, as well as stock that is difficult to sell, and stock they would like to see being introduced. This inevitably led to a discussion on how these additional parts would be marketed, promoted and sold to the public. This training allowed Fapi Motors to further refine the skills required when it comes to efficient procurement.
Many Hands, One Chain: the Team at the Warehouse Part One

It’s extremely easy to recognise a Fahrenheit trailer, or a Gioia Banana truck, roaming around the island. Fahrenheit’s trailers are everywhere in sight, and the fruit and vegetables distributed by Fruitland take centre stage at some of the major supermarkets on the island. Behind every vehicle, every fruit and vegetable delivered in time, there’s a team of skilled drivers and maintenance staff who works tirelessly in a warehouse that has become a second home to all.

"Jiena kont diġà hawnhekk meta kollox beda jieħu l-qagħda. Rajt
kollox tiela’ mill-bidu".
I was already here when the warehouse started to take shape. I saw it being built up
from scratch.
"Id-diversifikazzjoni tal-kumpanija huwa dak li l-iżjed jagħmel
xogħolna interessanti hawnhekk".
The diversification of the company is what makes our work interesting here.
"Il-kumpanija sirt inħobbha. Wara dawn is-snin kollha tista’ tgħid li
saret parti minni".
I love the company. After all these years it has become a huge part of me.
"Il-post issa huwa ħafna iktar komdu sabiex wieħed jaħdem fih. Issa, li ilni hawn ftit snin
sewwa, naf tajjeb il-problemi li jinħolqu minħabba fi spazju limitat".
The place is definitely a comfortable one for us to work in. I’ve been here for more than a couple of
years now and I can still remember the limitations of working in a smaller space.
"Bomba. Tassew m’għandi xejn minn xiex ingerger".
Super! I literally have nothing to
complain about.

"Naħdem sigħat twal u tista’ tgħid li dejjem hawnhekk jien, imma ma
niddejjaqx, għax ix-xogħol inħobbu. L-isforzi tiegħi naf li jiġu rikonoxxuti u
nħossni inċentivata wkoll".
I work long hours, and am always on the go here, but I don’t mind. My efforts are always recognised and you get incentivised for that.
"Ix-xogħol wieħed sikur, u għalkemm m’ilnix wisq mal-kumpanija xorta
waħda diġà għandi bosta memorji li ħa nibqa’ ngħożż għal dejjem".
It’s a secure job, and although I’ve been
with the company for a few months, I have already made some great memories I will
cherish forever.
"Minn dejjem kelli x-xewqa naħdem ma’ Fahrenheit, u issa li l-ħolma saret realtà, ninsab
sodisfatt ħafna. Fil-fatt it-trakkijiet diġà soqthom kollha".
I’ve always wanted to work for
Fahrenheit. And now that I’m here, I’m really satisfied! In fact, I’ve already
driven all vehicles.
"Hawnhekk dejjem għaddejjin u ma nieqfu qatt. Il-bejgħ jibqa’
għaddej lejl u nhar".
Here we’re always busy. We sell fruit day and night.
"L-ewwel darba li missejt ma’ Fruitland kien fl-1995, meta kienet għadha waħedha.
Kienu żminijiet sbieħ ħafna. L-attenzjoni tad-diretturi kienet fuqha biss".
I still recall the very first days of Fruitland, when it was on its own, before all its sister companies.
Those were good times indeed. All the attention of the current directors was on it.
"Hawnhekk jekk taħdem mhux diffiċli wisq sabiex tavvanza. Għall-bidu jien ma ġejtx impjegat bħala
xufier, imma llum insuq it-trakkijiet".
It’s easy to advance in your career here. I started as a labourer, but I drive trucks
now. You see!

Here to Support your Quest for Knowledge
Anthea Formosa and Clifford Jo Zahra, part of Focused Knowledge’s content team, have officially been certified with a Diploma in Digital Marketing after training sponsored by Famalco Group. The course with the Digital Marketing Institute, hosted by ICE Malta, was completed last November, and the two sat for the examination early last month.
The diploma gave them the basic skills needed to understand and bridge gaps within their industry better. They can now create digital content that is more engaging to reach a larger number of people through the internet.
Fruitland Promotes a Fusion of Flavours, Colours and CulturesFruitland Company has recently launched their new website, www.Fruitland.Company, creating the first ever digital fruit and vegetable directory. The directory, which is still a work in progress, will ultimately contain an interesting profile of each fruit, vegetable, pulse and nut available.
The website also introduces monthly articles ranging from topics such as healthy children, to juicing, diabetes and keeping yourself motivated. Fruitland’s website aims to create a culture that encourages its audience to actively participate in a healthy lifestyle through engaging and motivational content.
The Directors wish to thank all those who showed their support throughout the loss of their father, Peter Mallia, who inspired them to take up their business venture and expand Famalco Group to what it is today.
