The hypothesis that dromedary camels are hosts of MERS CoV has been proven by the viral RNA detection in different specimens collected from these animals in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt and the isolation of the virus from nasal and faecal samples [11,17,19,36,37].
