FAQ: HP INTERACT – The Mobile Application for SKO!

What is HP INTERACT? HP INTERACT is the brand new mobile application designed for attendees at HP ESSN Sales Kickoff 2012! HP INTERACT features will allow you to connect with others quickly and get instant access to photos and background info; find up-to-date news and information on SKO, including schedules, sessions, last-minute changes, maps and more; and engage with attendees, presenters and sponsors, plus participate in friendly competition. Who should use HP INTERACT? HP INTERACT was designed for all HP ESSN & TS Americas employees attending Sales Kickoff 2012. Attending partners will also have access to the app and are encouraged to participate! Why would I want to use a mobile application at SKO? HP INTERACT will make it easier to navigate HP Sales Kickoff 2012 by providing up to date information and the ability to connect and interact with your peers. HP INTERACT features will allow you to connect with others quickly and get instant access to photos and background info; find up-to-date news and information on SKO, including schedules, sessions, last-minute changes, maps and more; and engage with attendees, presenters and sponsors; participate in friendly competition. Before the SKO event, the app will allow you to browse sessions and sponsors. During SKO, you will be able to view event updates, keep track of your schedule, connect with your peers, and engage in friendly competitions. After SKO, you will be able to maintain your connections, find local and regional colleagues and leverage the app for future team events. Which mobile phones/devices will support the HP INTERACT app? The web-based mobile application will be supported on all major smart phones including the Palm, iPhone, Blackberry and Android, among others.

Where do I go to download the HP INTERACT app? SKO attendees will receive an email containing the app link (http://m.hp.com/sko), their username and preset password. Can I choose my own mobile app password? The first time you log into the app, you will need to use the password sent to you in the app registration email. After your initial log-in, you will be able to reset your password to one of your choosing. Where can I use the mobile app? The mobile app is intended for use in ESSN & TS sessions/event at the Wynn, Encore, and Venetian hotels during the Sales Kickoff 2011. The 3G network will provide coverage for attendees to leverage the app in the main areas of the hotel. Please note that while the app is designed for use during SKO, please do not let it distract you from paying attention in sessions! It is intended to enhance your SKO experience and make it easier to navigate—but not to distract you from important content! What menu items will I find on the app when I log in for the first time?

• News: A live, Twitter-based news feed containing important messages and updates from SKO organizers

• My Schedule: My Schedule gives you the ability to save schedule items for easy and quick review and reminders.

• Event Guide: Access to information on all of the sessions and events slated to take place at SKO 2012, including general sessions and BU activities.

• My Status: Let your fellow SKO attendees know what you’re up to! Update your status when you attend various sessions and activities throughout the week to let your peers know what you’re thinking!

• Leaderboard: Tracks the point leaders who are completing their to-do items and unlocking badges.

• To-Do: A list of required and suggested action items for your week at SKO, including sessions, team meetings, networking opportunities, and much, much more! Complete your items and check in to receive badges and points to win fantastic prizes!

• Status Feed: Read about what your fellow SKO attendees are up to as they check in to various sessions and activities and update their own statuses on the “My Status” section of the application. You can even comment on their

posts. • Surveys: Many of the business units will be taking advantage of the mobile

application to gather your feedback! Have a minute of downtime? Complete a survey! You may even unlock a badge and earn points!

• Polls: For use in sessions, polls will be used to gather instant feedback during SKO.

• Contacts: A list of attendees with whom you’ve connected during SKO 2012. One click will link you to their profile containing background and contact information so you can stay in touch after the event ends.

• Attendees: A list of all of the ESSN & TS attendees using HP INTERACT to connect, find and engage at SKO 2012.

• Sponsors: A list and descriptions of companies sponsoring this year’s Sales Kickoff event.

• My Profile: Let other SKO attendees know who you are! You can fill in your information, link to your LinkedIn profile, and even upload a photo for extra points!

• QR Scanner: Use the scanner to access a link, documents or a message. Simply place a barcode in the viewfinder to scan it.

• Badges: Similar to collecting pins at the Olympics, badges offer a chance for you to participate in friendly competition with your peers. Badges can be unlocked by completing items on your To-Do List. Unlock as many as you can… you may even win a prize!

• Quizzes: Intended solely for ISS, this feature allows a team to ask a series of questions and track the answers in the back-end data of the app.

• Notifications: See who has connected with you, what news has been sent your way, what badges you have unlocked, notes from your colleagues, and much more!

Who can see my posts and activity on HP INTERACT? Everyone! All input into the app is public, meaning anyone using the mobile application will be able to read what you post, your comments, your check-in’s, etc. Please use your best judgment and professional etiquette. How do I go from page one to page two on the app home screen? To navigate from the first page to the second, you can simply use your finger to scroll the page, or use the “buttons” at the bottom of the page. Just click on the second button to go to the second page, and vice versa. How do I navigate back to the home screen once I’m in the app subpages? To navigate back to the home screen, simply hit the back arrows or grid button in the

top left-hand corner of the screen. What kind of items are preloaded in my To-Do List? All ESSN & TS SKO attendees will be able to find a list of important action items under the To-Do List icon within the application. These action items will range from checking in and receiving your registration packet, to attending sessions and dinners, to networking with your peers and swapping stories, to completing BU-specific surveys, to uploading event photos, and much more! Once you complete an item on your To-Do List, you can click on the “Interact” tab to check-in, unlock a badge, and climb up on the leader board. Please note, all To-Do’s and badges are based on the honor system; please play fair! What is a badge? And why should I unlock them? Unlocking badges offers an easy way to participate in friendly competitions with your peers, similar to collecting pins at the Olympics. Badges can be earned/unlocked by completing a wide variety of activities on your To-Do List including, but not limited to, attending planned sessions and events, adding contacts to your contact list, networking with your peers, posting photos, engaging with channel partners, and much more. You will be able to obtain a list of available badges once you download the mobile application and start earning points! Prizes will be awarded at the end of each full SKO day (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) to those in each BU who have unlocked the most badges to earn the most points! How do I unlock a badge? If you tap on a badge, you’ll see instructions about how to access the badge. Note that all badge acquisition quests begin with finding the item on the To Do list. Once you’ve completed the action, you can click the “Interact” tab to check-in, unlock a badge, and climb up on the leader board. How do my points get recorded? The mobile application automatically tracks your points when you complete activities on your To-Do List, check into sessions and comment on sessions. How do I find out how I’m doing on points compared to my peers? The mobile app includes an icon called “Leaderboard” where you can go in and check out how you are stacking up against your peers in terms of badges and points. Be diligent with completing your to-do’s and climbing to the top of the leader board—you may just win a prize!

How do I add an attendee to my “My Contacts” list? When you find an attendee on the list that you’d like to add to your contacts list, click the + sign at the top right of the screen. How do I update my status? That’s an easy one! Just got to the “My Status” icon on the app home page and start typing! You can type in your status, choose a session to check in to, add your location and even upload a photo. How do I comment on an attendee’s post or status? From the ‘Status Feed’ icon on the app home page, just click on the speech bubble to “like” someone’s status or add your own comment. Is this app related to HP Connections? No, this app is unrelated to the HP Connections website. How can I get more comfortable with using the HP INTERACT mobile app? We encourage you to download and spend some time with the app before traveling to Las Vegas! Update your profile, explore your To-Do items, build your own personal agenda, and browse speakers and sponsors. This will help you become more comfortable with navigating the app so that you’ll be an expert before Sales Kickoff even kicks off!
