About the Farmington DemocratsVisionThe Farmington Democratic Committee is the representative body for allregistered Democrats in the Town of Farmington NH, all of whom make up itsmembership. The Committee advocates and promotes progressive legislationand the election of local, state, and national officials who support social andeconomic progress and the equality of opportunity for all our citizens. Our online and local presence not only provides political, economic, and socialinformation for the citizens of Farmington, but also encourages progressivemovements in these areas at all levels of government. Through communityinvolvement, political action, and a shared vision, we seek to expand equityand opportunity for all residents of the Town of Farmington. We firmly believethat equity of opportunity can only be achieved through progressive changethat will advance our society towards shared values that promoteunderstanding, education, acceptance, and equality.
ActionThe Committee meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month at the
Recreation Center. We are involved in a variety of community projects thatpromote the betterment of Farmington and provide opportunities for all itscitizens. We maintain an active website, promoting upcoming events andissues in progressive thought and action. Members are also involved in theStrafford County Democratic Committee, seeking to advance our vision andmessage of equity of opportunity throughout New Hampshire and our nation.
Community We support and maintain the Adopt-a-Spot at the intersection of Route 11 andSpring Street. Hope you enjoy our attempt to beautify our Community. TheCommittee is also in the progress of sponsoring a Farmington CommunityGarden, which will be open to all Farmington Residents in the coming months.
With the full support of our Board of Selectman, we are now in the initialplanning and development stages of the project.
Regular Meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the second Thursday of eachmonth at the Farmington Recreation Center (Old Town Hall). Come joinus. All are welcome.

Forum Moderator Leo Lessard, Strafford County Register Of Deeds, former State Senator, andModerator for the Town of Milton will act as Moderator for the CongressionalCandidates’ Forum. The Farmington Democrats are delighted that Mr.Lessard will moderate the Forum. He has served the public in differentcapacities for many years and at one time was the highest-ranking electedDemocratic office-holder in the state. He is well-known for his commitment tothe principles of the Democratic Party and for his fairness, and impartiality.Mr. Lessard will ensure that the Forum will provide the greatest possibleopportunity for members of the public to learn about the candidates who areseeking office to serve in Congress for people of the First District of NewHampshire.

Before the main forum begins, any Democratic candidates running for other local offices who are present will be given a few minutes to introducethemselves to the audience, if they so choose.The following are Democratic candidates for our local offices. Not all of thesecandidates may be in attendance at the Forum.

First Congressional District ForumEach candidate will begin with a two minute introduction.Following the introductions, there will be a question and answer period.Questions will be taken from the audience by the moderator. Each candidatewill have 90 seconds to answer the question. Candidates will rotate positionsin the forum for each question.Following the questions, each candidate will have 2 minutes to make aconcluding statement.
