1960s FashionThe 1960 featured a number of diverse trends. It was a decade that broke

many fashion traditions, mirroring social movements during the period. In the middle of the decade, culottes (culottes is a word that originated in the French

language. Historically, “culottes” referred to the knee breaches commonly worn by gentlemen) box shaped PVC, dresses and Go-Go boots were popular. The widely popular bikini came into fashion in 1963 after being

featured in the musical beach party.

Mary quart invented the mini skirt, and jackie kennedy introduced the pill box HAT, both becoming extremely popular. False eyelashes were worn by

women throughout the 1960s.

The 1970’s fashion trends started with mini skirts, bell-bottoms and the hippie look from the 1960’s. These include platform shoes

which appeared on the Fashion scene in 1971 and often had soles two to four inches thick. Both men and women wore them.

EARLY TO MID 1970’s FASHION:

The decade began with the hippie look from the 1960’s. Jeans remained frayed, and the tie dye shirts and Mexican peasant

blouses were still popular. In 1971, extremely brief, tight fitting shorts, called hot pants were very popular. Kayla & Cappy

Fashion design is the art of the application of design and aesthetics or natural beauty to clothing and accessories. fashion design is influenced by cultural and social latitudes and has varied over time and place. fashion designers work in a number of ways in designing clothing and accessories. Some work alone or as part of a team. They attempt to satisfy designed clothing and because of the time required to bring a garment onto the market must at all times anticipate changing consumer tastes. Some clothes are made specifically for anindiridual as in the case of haute couture or bespoke failoring. Today most clothing is designed for the mass market especially casual and every day wear.
