Fashion styling for print

For budding fashion stylists keen to develop their skills and get a glimpse into the

day-to-day working life of the working stylist. You'll be asked to create a styled

image from concept to visual representation.

You'll participate in a photo shoot with a professional photographer and leave with

images for your portfolio.

This course also takes a critical look at the printed fashion image and the

demands of commercial and editorial styling. We'll cover the printed fashion

image as an integral part of a magazine, and introduce you to art direction.

The course includes:

• The different roles of the stylist in the fashion media

How to spot trends and incorporate them into your work

Designer collections - what to watch out for at the fashion shows

Magazine styling - getting the editorial look right for its market

Fashion PR - its role and relevance to the stylist

Targeting your image

Developing an eye for fashion imagery

Styling for editorial and advertising images

How a magazine works

Introduction to magazine art direction, including flat planning and typography

You'll participate in a photo shoot with a professional photographer and have

images for your portfolio. You'll finish the course understanding the different

needs of editorial and commercial fashion styling.

DurationThe programme will be of 2 days.

IntakeParticipation will be limited to a maximum of twenty five (on a first come first serve

basis). Any and all in the creative field including designers, managers, design

students, professionals benefit from this programme. Others desiring to increase

their sensitivity and creativity are also welcome. All that is needed is an open

mind.
