What is it?A new pilot opportunity designed to get students through the General Education Core (certificate) in one year including any developmental education courses. The second year of the program, student’s would be advised into an Associates degree path for transfer.

Who is it for?25 first term students willing to commit to the demands of the cohort. Specifically, students who are a) not sure what they want to do, and b) plan on transferring to a four year institution. In Spring of 2014 there were 454 students that may have qualified (114 AS & 340 AA, not including Pre-Nursing).

Why should they do it?A)Clear and simple path to degree completionB)Preparation for successful transfer in both academic and personal developmentC)To be part of a learning community that implements best practices in retention and completionD)For a possible scholarship

Why should we try it?Current best practices suggest that students complete college successfully when they have a STRUCTURED program, FEWER choices, INTENSIVE advising, PEER MENTORING, CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES, INNOVATIVE instruction, and a strong LEARNING COMMUNITY.

When will we try it?Fall of 2015
