As this film is starring a well known celebrity, the designer has exploited the fact by having a large proportion of the page taken up by the image. This will help to attract fans of the actor to the film, who might not otherwise have watched it. Especially as this particular star was a famous wrestler before becoming renowned as an actor, he is likely to have fans who may not necessarily fit in with the films target audience. This is enforced by having his name as the top actors credit. However, half of the actor’s body is out of the shot. This helps to add a sense of mystery about the character, as we cannot fully see him. The viewer is therefore intrigued to discover more about him and may watch the film to see his character to develop.

The character is holding a gun to allude to and connotate the danger in the film. This will stereotypically attract men as they are more associated with an enjoyment of action and violence. It also shows the viewer that this film may not be suitable for young children or those who are shocked or offended by the use of violence in film. As there is yet no certification on the film, this could be an important to denote to potential viewers. However it would also help in attracting their target audience who will find the idea of the gun exciting.

The use of light and dark is very important in this poster. The designer has used shadow as it creates a sense of mystery and excitement in the film as we feel that something is being hidden. However, this has been juxtaposed with a use of light to create an attractive affect but also include the viewer as we are given a clear vision of important elements of the poster. It also helps create a denotation of night time which could connotate danger and adventure.

The title of the film is written in a bold sans serif font, which enforces the force and action of the film. It is further shown through the metallic colouring, which is masculine and represents the characters reliance on technology and machinery such as the gun and car, which features heavily in the teaser. The bullet traveling across the title is further enforcing the idea of violence and action as well as given another dimension, which would not be achieved with straight text.
