    I love cheese, foie gras, lardo di Colonnata, butter and so many other fattyfoods that I should probably feel guilty but feck it, they're all delicious!

    When I heard the Science Gallery's current exhibition was about 'the good,the bad and the beauty of fat' I just had to visit it.

    The exhibition is divided into four different categories: starters, mains,buffet and desserts. No, it's not about eating food this time but getting alittle cultured.

    The starters are basically tests you can take part in, like getting yourwaist circumference measured, having your blood pressure taken or finding outabout your BMI and body fat percentage.

    The 'buffet' part of the exhibition was probably my favourite part with theinstallation of Michelin- starred chef Kevin Thornton: pig fat marinating inPoitín which will be tasted at the end of the exhibition.

    Sheridans Cheesemongers Irish Food Festival 2014

    This year was the first time I attended Sheridans Cheesemongers Irish FoodFestival in their Virginia Road Station headquarters in Co. Meath.

    Mr. FFID and I took the bus from Dublin and arrived there just before lunchtime, looking forward to filling our hungry bellies with some of the bestIrish produce.

    The festival takes place every year and is a great day out for families orfood lovers. There were about 80 Irish food stalls onsite, lots of cheese ofcourse as well as baked goods, Irish craft beer, jams and chutneys, meat,smoked fish and much more.

    There were also workshops given by Richard Corrigan, Ross Lewis, John andSally McKenna just to name a few. I attended an interesting workshop whereQuinlan Steel from Milleens talked us through the cheese making process.

    The National brown bread competition was hosted by Ella Mc Sweeney during theevent in the bread tent.

    Despite the weather the atmosphere was great and it was lovely to meetpassionate food producers and discover some products I didn’t know. If youhaven’t been you should visit the festival next year, just don’t forget tobring your wellies!

    Taste of Paris: Café Pouchkine (75003)

    Andrey Dellos opened the original Café Pushkin in Moscow in 1999, inspired bythe song 'Nathalie’ by French singer Gilbert Bécaud.

    He then decided to export his concept of French/Russian pastry shops to Parisin 2000 in the Printemps department store. I haven’t visited Café Pouchkinein Printemps but I did recently make it to their take-away branch in theMarais district close to Place des Vosges which opened at end of 2013.

    The pastries in Cafe Pouchkine are a mix of French classics with Russianingredients and influences, they look like nowhere else. The portions aren'tsmall and the prices are quite steep but these are not the kind of cakesyou'd eat every day.

    Cafe Pouchkine also makes their own baked goods and macarons. The lady waslovely and had a few samples of macarons available for us to taste.

    It looked very rich but was incredibly light and not too sweet, justperfection! I almost felt guilty when demolishing this beautiful cake.

    We also shared a pistachio and strawberry macaron as well as a cheesecakemacaron. They were big and perfect looking but the flavours weren't amazing,I prefer the ones from Pierre Hermé.

    Don't you wish you could taste all the pastries on the pictures? I certainlydo. If you're thinking of visiting Café Pouchkine you'd probably check outthe one in Printemps for the incredible setting and also I heard they make amean hot chocolate.
