AFGUARD®Electronic sensor for detection of free water inaviation fuel according to specification EI 1598,2nd Edition. The AFGUARD® sensor is qualified foruse as an alternative to Chemical Water Detectors(CWD) by Joint Inspection Group (JIG). TheAFGUARD® is regarded as fail safe and fullyhazardous-area (ATEX and IECEx) approved.Sensor System conforms to ISO 13849 standard.The FAUDI Aviation AFGUARD® is a measurementsystem, which supervises the quality of Jet Fuels.The AFGUARD® is recommended formeasurement of particulate matter in Jet Fuel likefree water. The AFGUARD® is a scattered lightsensor and is designed to provide inline controlsolution for a variety of processes.Functionality: A precisely defined, constant lightbeam penetrates the process medium. Scatteredlight from particles (undissolved liquids like freewater or gas bubbles) in the medium is detectedby photo diodes. It is also possible to determine awater slug in Jet Fuel.The AFGUARD® can be used perfectly to detectthe functionality of Filter Water Separators or tomeasure the water absorbing performance ofFilter Monitors. This can be done by measuringthe level of free water detected by AFGUARD®sensors, placed at the vessel in let and outlet. Freewater will be detected and, with AFGUARD® inplace, the monitors are under constantsurveillance to insure their proper function.Application area (with reference to individual EIstandard) EI 1598 2nd Edition sensor can/shall beused in conjunction with EI 1581 filter/waterseparators, EI 1599 dirt defence filter as well asother technologies
