Inbound Route Fax Settings
Under the inbound route section of your Admin PBX you can set fax settings. Under the inbound route scroll down to the “Fax Detection” setting.
Fax Detect Setting • Detect Faxes- You can set this to “yes” or “no” if you want to have the system attempt to detect faxes on an inbound call. If set to yes you then need to choose the “Detection Type” and a destination on where to send fax calls to.
• Fax Detection Type- You can pick between SIP and DAHDI. If the call is coming from a SIP trunk pick SIP. If the call is coming in on a Analog or PRI line pick DAHDI.
• Fax Detection Time- How long to try and detect if the call is a fax or voice before failing to the voice destination. We recommend setting this to 4-5 seconds.
• Fax Destination- If the system detects a fax call this is the destination of where to send the fax call to. This is usually sent to the “Fax Recipient” destination.
You can also choose not to use fax detect and direct the inbound route as a normal destination to the fax recipient of the user you want to receive the fax (when someone sends a fax to this inbound route). This is tipically recommended because fax detection is not always totally accurate and will lead to inbound calls taking longer to ring through as it attempts to detect a fax tone before routing the call.

Logging into the user control panel you will see a section called “Fax”. From here a user can view all locally stored faxes (if enabled for the user) and send outbound faxes:
