• A minor offence is an offence committed that infringes on school rules but do not pose a threat to others.

Question: What is the difference between a minor offence and a major offence?

• A major offence is an offence committed that infringe on school rules AND pose a threat to self and others, in terms of physical, mental and spiritual well-being

1. Use of electronic gadgets (eg. handphones, MP3) during school hours

2. Possession of contraband items (eg. jewellery, cosmetics, perfumes)

3. Dyed hair and long hair (for boys). Hair must be kept short and neat at all times.

6. Uniform infringement (boys & girls)(Eg. alterations to the uniform like tapered pants)

CONSEQUENCES1. Warning

2. Immediate confiscation of gadgets. It will be returned to the parents at the end of the day

3. Complete an incident report

4. Parent-teacher conference

LATE COMING…1. Late coming more that 10 times per semester will constitute in a major offence. The conduct at the progress report will be reflected as satisfactory.

2. Late comers will have to report to the office. His/her name will be recorded in the late coming file.

MAJOR OFFENCES1. Smoking (in public or in school uniform)

2. Verbal fighting & rudeness (eg. Using vulgarities)

3. Extortion

4. Physical fighting

5. Truancy – leave school during school hours without valid reason

7. Frequent absenteeism (more than 10 days in 1 semester)

8. Physical intimacy between girl and boy

9. Possession of pornographic materials

3. Compensate for the loss and damage of school properties (for vandalism)

4. Public apology

5. Barred from sitting for major examination
