The cryogenic crossover rotary valve are based on two breakthrough technologies (1) combining
the best features of triple offset , double offset butterfly valves and metal seat ball valve as one with
optimized thermal , mechanical and fluid dynamic characteristics (2) combing metal and nonmetal
thermal properties to define thermal barrier at seal surface , as results the composite seat and
packing less shoulder seal were developed to achieve the highest performance no other ever can , it
can sustain the temperature gradient between ambient and –450 F temperature while keeping suffi-
cient contact stress for positive seat seal under Class VI and positive shaft seal without stem extension
no other ever can

The unique belleville seal
has changed the history of
metal seal and is deigned
to have ID conical surface
and OD conical surface seals
in stead of convectional ID
or OD seal with front or
back seal as well ,since ID
surface angle is offset from
OD surface angle , so the
more compressed, more
sealed due to opposite
angles and acts a Belle-
ville spring to keep constant
compress force and seal
forces and compensate any
wearing , since seal ring is
not pressed when the disc
is at open positions, the
seal ring has much long life.
The composite seat is
designed to hold the seat
seal at big temperatures

to metal can hold seals as
well as can sustain rapid
closed speed less than 1
second or the seat would
be freeze and no other met-
al to nonmetal seals can
sustain and provide seal for
ANIS Class 6 , the nonmet-
al ring is designed to create

metal to metal seal can
operate and hold seals
without damage of the seat

The packing less stem seal as-
sembly is designed to seal and
bear the rotary stem at high
temperatures 850 F and up to
1800 F or lowest to -450 F ,
when air is heated to 850 and
up, the graphite suffer greatly
oxidation and become ash , so
packing less seal assembly are
fully metaled , the rotary shaft
has a conical or spherical shoul-
der with a pair of wedge rings
installed on top and bottom of
the shoulder, a top and a
bottom plate to support the top
and bottoms of wedge rings.
While l gases are liquefied un-
der –250 F , no nonmetal can
sustain freeze condition, while
metal can sustain the freeze
condition but cannot hold seal.
The stem seal assembly convert
the dynamic seals between the
stem shoulder and wedge rings
to static seals , the static seal
between the wedge rings and
top and bottom plates to dy-
namic seals, special high temper-
atures

The unique shaft shoulder seal
is designed to hold axial force to
keep seal force instead of hold
axial force to convert radial seal
force like conventional stem
seal and acts like bearing to
control rotary movement as
well as axial movement with a
pair of wedge ring set so it
can sustain big temperatures

there is no cool box or stem
extension need, it is installed at
any position vertical or horizon-

ANIS Class 6 and severe appli-
cations , the nonmetal ring is
designed to create a thermal
barrier around the metal to met-
al seal , so metal to metal seal
can hold only when the temper-
ature gradient is less some % ,
while all rings must be free to
move under thermal change,
above all , nonmetal is no Elec-
trical conduit, metal is electrical
conduit, they each play different
role in the boundary between
liquid and sold .
A pair of eccentric plugs are
designed to replace the conven-
tional gland and bolts , which
generates uncontrolled com-
pression on the packings , the
distanced between the highest
point in the plug are based
on the optimized compression ,
, once the compression reach
the lowest point, the packing is
need to be replaced.

The dual wedge Joint is designed
for high speed or impact opera-
tion by eliminating stress con-
centration and destructive on the
rotary stem and by separating
bending from driving force ,
equally distributing driving force
with the dual wedge joint , it
greatly reduces bending stress
and hub size to improve fluid
rate, while the center of disc has
the strongest cross section to
transfer driving force to shaft
with larger wedge area of double
sides , so it not only to secure the
joint without weakening the shaft,
but also improve the overall flow
rate with less cross section in the
center as well as the hub areas.
Streamlined disc reduces pres-
sure drop by 15 % or more and
turbulence with reduction of hub
size and cross section of center of
the dice without reducing
strength of the shaft or disc .
Free thermal expansion , re-
stricting shaft from axial expan-
sion causes 15 % of seat leakage
under the thermal change be-
tween 60F to 1200 F or 60 to –
450 F if the shaft is secured by
pins, which eliminate axial free-
dom, with the dual friction
wedge joint , the shaft would
freely expand axially without
damaging the seat or shaft
seals.

since the wedge has the same
materials as the disc , they would
be not loss engagement with the
disc even under high vibration ,
the wedge shape unlike the pins
joint , under the shear stress , the
pins in most case has a stronger
material than the disc , under
thermal expansion , they would

The bushing and stop pin are a
part of dynamics devices to
deal with dynamic operation
due to the temperature or
movement changes
The bushing combines a seal-
ing and bearing as one, the
bearing teeth act as a bearing
to support shaft at high temper-
ature , the grooves is filled with
grease to provide seals as well
as to lubricate both shaft and
bushings while the spring pins
to support the shaft under
both lower and high tempera-
tures , or thermal expansion or
impact force due to shaft side
load from disc ,

Buckling stop pin is designed
to absorb the impact when the
disc is to closed or cut solid
particles build up like coking ,
since buckling condition hap-
pen away below yield
strength , the pin would not be
damaged while it stores 35 %
impact energy and greatly in-
crease the seat as well the
bushing life.

The module design simplify
process with a base lugged
body and can be used alone

flanges for double flanges
or a pair butt weld flanges
for butt welded joint, so the
universal 3 pcs body assem-
bly can replace any face to
face configuration .
Attachable seal ring is
placed between flanges ,
even under high or low tem-
perature change or pressure
surge, the flanges are still
well sealed , the seal ring is
not reusable , the big ad-
vantage is to replace weld-
ing process .
The left and right trim set is
used to control the flow
conditions I like cavitation,
erosion in a more efficient
and optimized way , since
the incoming flow stream
is divided two , each stream
is conditioned by one trim,
at full opening , the flow
capacity only is reduced by
30 % , the trim is easily to
be replaced and installed .
