ALL SET TO CELEBRATE FEAST

TawagAwit will hold the Food & Music FEAST to mark the fourth anniversary of its founding on Sunday May 15, 2011, 12pm at the St Mary’s Social Hall, Northcote, North Shore, Auckland City. This is the second annual staging of the FEAST, the inaugural event occurred in July last year (see photo above). With the theme, “Counting Our Blessings”, the activity will be attended by servant leaders and members from five chapters, namely St Mary’s Northcote (the mother chapter), St Thomas More Glenfield, Our Lady of Lourdes Glen Eden, Good Shepherd Balmoral (East Auckland) and St Patrick’s Taupo.

The program this year will include the “Voice Technique Workshop” to be conducted by music professional Anna de Guzman, a jazz pianist/vocalist, former member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers and vocal coach of The Vocal Performance Studio in Auckland. Each of the chapters is expected to render one-two songs, while the TaYo: TawagAwit Youth members of West Auckland have formed a band to perform their brand of inspiring music. Three songs which were honoured in the 2011 DOVE Gospel Music Awards will be performed namely “Beautiful, Beautiful” by Francesca Battistelli, “Our God is Greater” by Chris Tomlin and “Something Beautiful” by NeedToBreathe. Bro Mel B Libre, Lead Servant, will give a brief message and sing “Feast for the Lord”, an original song composed purposely for the event. Servant leaders have been requested to make a report about their respective chapters. As to the food aspect of the event, one big roasted pig was ordered from Tita Claudia’s Lechon (the best lechon in Auckland), with members donating their best dishes for all to partake. There is much to celebrate not just for the success of TawagAwit in its ministry, but for the blessings given by the Almighty to individual members and to families. Most importantly this FEAST is for the Lord Our God. Alleluia!
