In the Gallery SEPTEMBER 10–OCTOBER 16 American School Girl by Sue Cranston Artist Reception: Thursday, September 14 • 7–8 p.m.

“American School Girl,” a series of acrylic and mixed-media paintings, represents Sue Cranston’s version of childhood experiences for a young girl. It is a playful documentation that combines her memories of growing up in Wisconsin, her experiences teaching in the classroom, and her life as a daughter and mother.

Each painting showcases variations of symbolic evidence portraying vulnerability, earnestness, honesty, wholesomeness, pride, good intentions, ambition, commitment, and civic duty.

OCTOBER 22–NOVEMBER 27The Two Andersonsby Marc Anderson and Matt AndersonArtist Reception: Thursday, October 26 • 7–8 p.m.

"The Two Andersons" will feature works painted en plein air by Matt and Marc Anderson. Their collection of landscape paintings were created on location across Wisconsin. The Andersons, who are not related, do share a kinship in traditional oil painting as well as the inspirational and next-level artistic experience that is painting outdoors. Marc Anderson
