The Explorer’s Class - The Explorer’s Class is beginning a new series today on the topic, “Theologians Under Hitler.” This dynamic 6-week study will feature a dvd put out by the UMC dealing with the conditions that led up to the Holocaust and why Christian theologians supported the Nazi regime. 9:00 a.m. in the Adult Room.

Contemporary Issues - The 10:30 Adult Contemporary Issues Class will discuss: “What has life taught you so far?” “Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward” said Kierkegaard. Do we begin to understand more about life only as we grow older?

Young Adult Group will meet today from 12:00 - 1:00 in Room 112 for our monthly study session. We are a group of single and married adults in their 20's & 30's that meet the second Sunday of the month to discuss biblical and spiritual questions that arise from what we experience in our careers, families, and struggles of life. 50+ - Celebrate Valentine’s Day belatedly with 50+ on Friday, Feb. 18 th, at 12:00 noon in the Shalimar Country Club Restaurant, 2032 E. Golf Ave., Tempe. Our own minister, Rev. Michael Kelley, will present a program on Love Songs. To attend this special event, make your $12 per person lunch reservation with Erma Dean at (480) 839-4657, or with a 50+ caller. Visitors, members, everyone...all are welcome.

Brown Bag Lunch - Come join us for Brown Bag Lunch every Tuesday at 12:00 noon in Room 112. Bring your own lunch and socialize with people from the church. We always have a good time! Come and be part of this fun group.

Singles at Dayspring -Singles, Etc. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. UMW Monthly Unit Meeting is the third Thursday of the month, February 17th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Adult Room. Rev. Chuck Winkler will present “Outreach: Domestic Violence and Food Pantry.”

Book Sale - United Methodist Women will have a used book sale on Saturday, April 9, at Dayspring. We are seeking book donations: paperbacks, hardbacks, novels, biographies, children’s books, cookbooks, nonfiction, etc. (no textbooks or magazines, please). Please put your donations in the boxes located in the narthex or Adult Room. Proceeds will be used for mission projects. Thank you for your help!

Save the Date - Too early to start thinking about the Holidays? Dayspring Preschool and Kindergarten will be holding their annual fundraising event Nov. 3rd - 5th, 2011. Mark your calendars now, as you won’t want to miss it! Interested in becoming a vendor? Applications will be available in early March. Stay tuned, more information to follow in the upcoming weeks.
