LETTER FROM PRINCIPAL NELSON

Greeting Rutherford Families,

We will have Parent-Teacher conference at Rutherford on Thursday, February 21, from 3:40 - 7:40 p.m. and on Friday, February 22nd, from 7:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.  We are implementing a new sign-up procedure this semester by using Skyward Family Access for parents to sign up online.   We hope signing up electronically will be a more efficient and accessible system for parents to select a conference time.  Here are a few important items to be aware of: 

• You will be able to electronically sign up for a conference with your child's classroom teacher only.  Parents will need to connect with their child's music, band, orchestra, phy ed, MWM, RWM and Reading Interventionist teacher directly if you would like to schedule a time to conference with them.

• Use your Skyward Parent Login information sent home this week. The Student login information will not give you access to selecting conference times.

• The link for this sign up will go live Monday, February 4th, 2013.• Login to Skyward Family Access and select Teacher Conferences in the left menu bar. Select 'View All Times' to

choose your conference date and time.• A short video is available that explains the process for selecting a conference date. You can access the information

on Skyward for families.• Please contact our main office at 651 351-6400 if you have any questions.

There will be time at this conference to briefly review fall goals, answer any questions and then to discuss your child's progress since the fall conferences.

Cost Center Parent Meeting

When: Tuesday, February 5, 2013Time: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Location: Multiple Purpose Room, Rutherford Elementary

PLEASE CALL THE MAIN OFFICE IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE PARENT MEETING AT RUTHERFORD.

Purpose: We are inviting families to come and hear about our district’s cost center work. The cost centers are comprised of 11 different working groups that were charged with putting together two separate budget reduction lists. The budget reductions were developed in the unlikely event that our levy doesn’t pass next fall. These reductions will be for the 2014 – 2015 school year.

During the meeting parents will have the opportunity to share thoughts regarding the following questions:

• What things on the list are of greatest concern to you?

• What things do you believe are missing from this list?

• What things do you believe should remain on this list?

Information gathered during the meeting will be shared with district administration for further consideration.

Your input will be important.

If you are unable to attend the Rutherford Parent Meeting we will have a few other opportunities for you to hear information and share input. Below are dates and times:The meetings listed below will be similar to the meeting at Rutherford.
