A Tribute
A small part of the legacy of the late Frank Geary is the
woodwork he crafted for church purposes.
The 9-11 Memorial in the shrine area is the most
noticeable of his carpentry and finish work.
Then there is the ample box in the lobby which is
consistently filled by generous parishioners for the St.
Edward Food Pantry.
Holy Child is grateful to the St. Vincent DePaul Society
which regularly transports the foodstuffs from that
receptacle to the pantry shelves at Mount Loretto.
Also, there is the stand on which is placed the sanctus bell,
or triple gong, used to rivet attention at the consecration.
And then, there is the Altar of Repose in the Perpetual
Adoration Chapel which supports the Real Presence of the
Lord, upon it.
Along with his many other fine qualities, Frank’s carpentry
craft stands as an everlasting investment in the faith he
practiced among us.

ROSARY MINISTRY
The Rosary Ministry is in need of Rosary Leaders to lead the congregation in the Sunday Pre-Mass Rosary. If you can offer your assistance, please contact Rosaria Incantalupo at 718-948-0128.
Do not hesitate or be afraid to come forward, but do as Mary did and give your “yes”. Remember, Mary was a teenaged girl when she gave her YES, and Joseph was many years her senior when he too gave his yes. Let Mary speak to your heart.

AD JESUM PER MARIAM - TO JESUS THROUGH MARY
Starting the New Year with a salute to Mary Mother of God gives us the opportunity to be reminded of The Legion of Mary which has been recently restored to Holy Child’s slate of devotions. It is a devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary that started in 1921 in Ireland by Frank Duff. He formed the Legion as a sign of her maternal love for the world. The chapter here located meets
Monday evening in the church
immediately after the miraculous Medal Novena at 7 p.m.
For those who find night travel difficult, there is another session on
Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Rectory Conference Room.
Members attend one Sunday Mass each month and are on hand afterwards to answer any questions inquirers may have.
For more information: Angela Di Benedetto 347-896-2307
All are invited to join.
