Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

Mary and Joseph took Jesus up to Jerusalem to present him to the

Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord

How was your Christmas? Did you get what you wanted? Was every-

body happy with the gifts you gave them? Have you returned all of the presents you received that you did not want or that do not fit? Did you spend some time Jesus? Do you spend some time to reflect on and appreciate His role and importance in our lives? Do we understand that a constantly growing intimate relationship with Jesus is a tremendous gift? St. Luke tells us about Simeon, a righteous and devout man who awaited the consolation of Israel. Eight days after the first Christmas, the Birth of Jesus, Joseph and Mary brought Him to the Temple to perform the custom of the law. Simeon realizes that the Lord had fulfilled His promise to let Simeon see Christ the Lord. When Simeon saw the child Jesus he knew he had received a tremendous gift. We have received the gift of awareness of who and what Jesus is in our lives. A constantly growing intimate relationship with Jesus is the real gift of Christmas. It is a gift we should cherish and share with others every day of the year.

Word of Life

“When parents say ‘yes’ to life for their child, they are saying ‘yes’ to the most loving and healing path for all in-volved. When God invites us to draw close to him by following his commandments (Jn 14:15), he does so because he wants what is best for us. By saying ‘yes’ to life for their child, which is morally good and right, parents are placing their trust in God and embracing their child and the life their child has been given for as long as it is given.”

EL CAMINO A DIOS El único camino que nos lleva a Dios es la humildad;
