O Lord and King, grant me the grace to be aware of my sins and not to judge my brother or sister; for you are blessed now and ever and forever. Amen. Your brother in Christ, Msgr. Not until we realize the value of prayer will we take the time to pray. Prayer helps us fall deeper in love with the one who loved us into life! 2019DAA We have received many gifts, pledges and sustaining commitments for the 2019 Diocesan Annual Appeal. Thank you! If you haven’t done so, it isn’t too late. You may use an envelope and prayer card located at the front and side entrance of the church here at our parish or use the one you have received at home. You may make a gift by using a personal check or cash, by credit card or automatic withdrawal from your checking account. We prefer that pledges are paid over the course of ten months if possible. Consider increasing your gift this year by 5% or 10% if you haven’t increased your gift for several years. For questions about online giving and sustaining gifts, (a highly recommended method which conserves the environment, human and other resources) contact Renee Tate at

February 24, 2019 - Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time “But rather, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend without expecting anything back.” (Luke 6:35) Easier said than done, right? But, if we are to imitate Christ, most of us need to practice mercy and compassion more frequently. Start with the little daily annoyances that we experience, the unkind word or hateful glance we receive. Instead of plotting revenge on that person, try saying a quick prayer for that person. Mercy and compassion will put us on the path to holiness.

Sacred Heart School News

As a registered parishioner you have a level of priority when it comes to placement as Preschool, Kindergarten, and as our other grades start to fill for the 2019-20 academic year. Enrollment is limited and will fill fast! Families are drawn to Sacred Heart School at sixth grade for several key reasons. Parents choose Sacred Heart because they enjoy having a place where their child will be loved and challenged that provides the consistency between home, church, and school, by teaching Catholic doctrine, history and tradition through daily prayer, school Masses, and a faith based curriculum. Students are engaged every day in a broad number of subject areas. They interact with great books and materials. They are encouraged to love their studies and to find delight in God’s creation. Sacred Heart students are supported and encouraged to use their God-given talents and are empowered to be life-long learners. Sacred Heart is affordable! We work with your family to make Catholic education at Sacred Heart affordable, utilizing available Scholarships and Tuition assistance and taking into consideration financial need. We utilize FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment, a tool used by Catholic Schools across the country to privately verify and assist the school in making an informed decision about the amount of financial aid needed for each family. By using a third party your exact financial information remains secure, private and undisclosed to us here at SHS. Unsure? I invite you to attend an upcoming Preschool-Grade 12 Admission Information Night · New Preschool through Grade 12 on Monday, February 25th, 2019, 6:00 p.m. RSVPing to attend is not required, but if you’d like us to tailor your experience, or if you have questions, feel free to register ahead of time at www.yourchildmatters.org. If the dates do not work and you would prefer a private visit, or shadow day for an older child, you can schedule one at www.yourchildmatters.org. If you are interested in Preschool, Kindergarten, or grades 1st-12th, please feel free to contact us at www.yourchildmatters.org. Know that at Sacred Heart School we believe your child matters!

Dear Sacred Heart Families and Friends, Well, we did it! We finally made it a week without a weather event that delayed or cancelled school. I am sure the students are glad to have a long four-day weekend to rest up as we gradually build up to attending school for a full week! Let’s pray the winter weather continues to cooperate. As we wrap Parent Teacher Conferences at Sacred Heart, we say Thank You! We are always excited to celebrate the individual growth of students and welcome this time to share accomplishments and identify personal goals for the second half of the school year. The overall success of students at Sacred Heart is enriched by the strong partnership of the school and parents so we thank you for being actively involved in our mission. With registration for the 2019-2020 school year open, we are blessed to be approaching waitlists for a few elementary grade levels. With the growing enrollment, the only way to ensure a 1st-12th grade spot for returning families is to turn in registration forms by the registration deadline of March 1st. After this date, spots will be opened to new families. Parents—To secure your child’s future here at Sacred Heart, please take the time now to complete and return registration forms. If you have questions regarding registration, please contact Jen Koller at [email protected] or 218.773.0877. Warm blessings, Miss Joanne Wilson Principal K-6 Dean of Academics for K-12
