    Dear Parishioners,

Can you believe that Lent has

    already begun? These Holy 40

    Days present some truly unique

    opportunities for our Parish.

Our Pastoral staff has spent a

great deal of time planning the

many events that will take place

in order for us to prepare our

hearts, spirits, and lives for the

    Resurrection of Jesus.

    Within this newsletter you will

    find:

    Information about our

    Almsgiving project, which

    will directly benefit the St.

    Vincent de Paul Society,

    merized by their graceful

    movements. Although

    there were many people

    running and walking along

    the lake path, there were

    surprisingly few who no-

    ticed the majestic birds im-

    pressive performance.

That day I was fortunateenough to be unoccupied

    and unhurried enough to

    appreciate what was in

    front of me; unfortunately,

    Recognizing the Gifts

    We Are Given

    Come behold the deeds of

    the Lord Psalm 46:9.

    I was walking around a

    nearby Lake recently when

I caught a glimpse of some-

thing moving in the sky. When I looked up, I was

dazzled by the sight of two

    eagles dipping and soaring

    in unison. I watched them

    for several minutes, mes-

of course, that is not always

    the case. I cannot help

    wonder how many times I

fail to recognize the gifts I

    am being given either be-

    cause I am preoccupied or

    too filled with expectations

    of what should happen to

appreciate what is actuallyin my life at any given mo-

    ment.
