When Mary Ethel and I were first married, we took part in a visitation ministry at church. Our as signment was very manageable: visit one particular shutin every 45 weeks, then inform the pastor how she was doing. There were no Visitation Committee meetings to attend. With so many elderly and sick members needing care, the pastor could not get around to visit everyone who needed a contact in a timely manner. Besides helping to keep the pastor from burn ing out, our visits helped keep Mrs. Stroud feeling connected to her church. She loved us bringing her the latest news and Upper Room . But Mary Ethel and I received the greatest blessing. Mrs. Stroud was a delightful lady with a sharp mind, and we enjoyed get ting to know her. She told us interesting history about our church and community. Our visits continued until we moved away. Did you know that Trinity began a visitation ministry last fall?
