Another milestone has come – 2019. For many it is a means for a fresh start, a new year, a fresh beginning. For many, the New Year means dieting to lose all those pounds we put on over the past two months or more. For others, it is a milestone in ageing, another year. But winter has just begun and we must ride out the cold and snow before enjoying the fresh awakening of spring. It is a difficult time for many of us to get exercise and enjoy the outdoors. We can watch the time go by as the days get longer and brighter, a little bit at first and by the end of March we will be back to daylight savings time. The chores of winter start with preparing to send in our tax return to the government, planning that garden for summer and ordering the plants and seeds that will delight us later in the year. We may plan our vacation. We may plan whom we will visit or who will visit us later in the year. Let’s make sure this year that we plan to do something for the Lord. Bring that friend or neighbor to Church. Let us pray for him or her. Find time to get together and get to know each other. Touch a heart with goodness and caring and you will be blessed.

Happy New Year! MAP Praise and Prayer-2019

We give our uttermost praise and thanksgiving to God, our Almighty Father, for

His faithfulness endures forever. God’s power and grace sustained us for the year

2018. He provided the resources, finances, volunteers, and partners that we needed

so that we were able to accomplish more than what we aimed for. God gave us

strength for the times we felt weak and discouraged, healing from sickness,

encouragement and hope when we experienced failure. Finally, God gave us peace

and calmness when we felt fear and uncertainty for the future. To God alone be the

Glory. We welcome 2019 with full trust and confidence in the Lord to intentionally

incarnate His love, forgiveness, and hope through MAP’s holistic transformational

ministry.

Beloved partners, once again we covet your time and effort to pray alongside us.

you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from

the first day until now.” Phil.1:3-5

PIZZA PARTY

On January 19, GOGO’s dodged the winter snow to come to the pizza party. We

lucked out that the storm pushed north and we had rain and warmer weather.

Several who had signed up were unable to come as they were “under the weather.”

Jodi Danko had pizza arriving at noon just as advertised. Lucille Morton make a

lovely salad, Bob Lee brought cookies, Sharon Hall brought a pecan cake and Ann

Pearce brought peppermint candy to share. There were 20 GOGO’s in attendance.

We spent a wonderful afternoon together talking and sharing with one another.

The entrance into the wide corridor at CBC was adorned with four lit sculptures which created a festive entry into CONNECTIONS. Bob Lee & Howard Morton continued the Christmas décor into that designated space with beautiful lights. There we enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and fellowship before the Christmas meal. We walked thru the lighted arch into the dining area. Nine covered tables held beautiful centerpieces created by Sharon Hall. Lucille Morton and Ann Pearce did a lovely job of arranging 24 mangers in THE NOOK. It was indeed beautiful and so appropriate. John Kerns was our roving photographer and Mary Moles delighted us with music from the harp and piano. Meg and her staff prepared turkey, beef and ham, salad, mashed potatoes, green beans with almonds and cheese cake with cherry or blueberry topping for dessert. Five CBC youth made perfect servers. After Steve Lizzio said the blessing, we all enjoyed the Christmas repast Upon finishing the delicious meal, we sang several Christmas songs which added to the spirit of the occasion. The person at each table with their birthday closest to December 25 got to take home the beautiful centerpiece. Over 40 GOGO’s and friends attended a wonderful evening in celebration of Jesus’ birth.
