A role as niche product
If users find what they are looking for in a stream, they may then drill for further information.

Answers and actions for a forward-looking dissemination architecture
Strategic requirement: • information available for various channels• up to date and suitable for data streams
This requires clear separation between content and presentation using a consistent three-tier architecture model: Data – Services - Presentation

Meeting the Challenges
A mere redesign of traditional websites is no longer
enough to meet the challenges of the increasing use of
mobile devices, of infostreams and of searching as
means of accessing the huge amount of information
available online.

Meeting the Challenges
More extensive adjustments are necessary to ensure
• non-redundant and presentation-independent content management;
• content availability for many different media and devices;• intelligent statistical content delivered through semantic
indexing and infostreams.
Database-hosted content is king and web services are the servants for delivering statistical information …. also as open (linked) data.
