About FFDCA• The Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act is one of the most

important regulatory laws implemented by the U.S. government in order to limit pesticide residues on food and interstate commerce.

• The FFDCA only classifies cosmetics, and does not specifically regulate them because these products are not essential for living

• FFDCA also regulate food coloring and additives that may be present in food products, and encourages the use of natural ingredients.

• Determines the administration of drugs according to efficacy, safety and treatment with the drug.

• FFDCA permits the EPA to establish appropriate pesticide levels in food and animal feed to be safe for consumption.

• If pesticide residue levels exceed these standards or the tolerance has not been established, the FFDCA will not permit these products to be sold by interstate commerce, and such imported goods will not be accepted.
